Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!
Good Morning LW's!!!! Yesterday we had lots of sunshine and this morning we have Lots of snow and a lot more on the way! Luckily we aren't getting the 12" as predicted for tonight. It's more like 4". DD's booked a room at the Dallas airport for tomorrow evening just in case their flight gets cancelled.
We went out yesterday early for a few groceries and spent the rest of the day at home. DH told me to relax and not do housework and this morning as I look at the kitchen I am really regretting it..... I ate pretty good though for being in most of the day. I haven't had cottage cheese since I was really little and all of these years I thought I didn't like it...lol. I bought some to make a shake with and when I tried a bite I thought...why haven't I been eating this??? Off to church and home to clean up yesterday's mess.
My Menu is not your typical WLS Menu: I am a strict believer in Protein drinks but at the present time I am not allowed to have them because I have been diagnosed with IC (Painful Bladder Syndrome). Success means: Protein first then add other foods!!!!
Breakfast: Egg, Eggbeater Whites and ham
Lunch: Eating out somewhere...protein for sure
Snack: Nature Valley Almond Crunch Bar (Gluten free)
Snack:
Dinner: Maybe stuffed Pork Chops I didn't make yesterday
Calories Protein Net Carbs Fat Sugar

One of my team members is supposed to fly in to Harrisburg tomorrow around 1PM from Austin, TX. I wonder if they are going to hold her up? Ugh, not looking forward to this week traveling and working up there.

Today's been a good day this far. The dense fog has burned off and it's sunny and mild outside. I went to the gym early this morning. I think that's what got the day off on a good note for me. After I got back, the family and I went out to IHOP for breakfast. We don't go out to eat often so this was a treat. Now the day is just being spent finishing up laundry and planning meals for the week.

B - Coffee w/ Truvia and Coffee Creamer (0 g protein, 6 g carbs)

L – Isopure Creamy Vanilla protein shake (25 g protein, 7 g carbs)
S – Greek Yogurt (13 g protein, 19 g carbs)

I love IHOP. We don't have one near us so we only get to visit one when we travel. 2 of our DD's are in Dallas this weekend and sent me a text that they were eating there...those stinkers...LOL
I was wondering about the carbs in the Greek Yogurt. Do you put something in it or is it flavored?
Your Protein and Carb totals are about the same. You might want to increase your Protein total. Most of us get way over 100g per day to maintain and you are probably still in your Honeymoon stage.

I don't know if I'll be doing IHOP again any time soon. I ingested a little too much gluten and paid for it most of the day.
The greek yogurt is flavored. Some days I can get about 100 grams of protein; other days, it's a lot less. Do you have any suggestions to increase the protein without increasing the carbs?
Sorry about the gluten causing you problems. What kind of symptoms do you have?
My menus are all out of whack right now but from the previous 4 years: I rarely counted up my carbs but then I again I rarely eat carbs like pasta, bread, rice etc. I really watch my fruits too because of the sugar and carbs. Most of my carbs are from vegetables and Protein drinks. Most of us on the LW board drink the Syntrax Nectares. They are 23 grams of Whey Protein, 100 calories, 0 fats, 0 carbs, lactose and gluten free. Before having to limit my Protein drinks I drank at least 3 but mostly 4 per day. I didn't count all of the Protein I got with food as long as I got my drinks in.

Gluten tends to give me a lot og gas and bloating. When I eat too much of it I then have the abdominal cramping along my ribs. I usually have to lay down and switch to a liquid diet until I feel better. Peppermint tea and ginger root capsules have been my friends as of late. I'm due to see another surgeon on Thursday because my intestines have a bad habit of "rolling" on itself. It's called intusseseption and is rare in adults. I may be looking at surgery to correct the problem.
I don't eat much bread or pasta but rice is a staple in my house (hubby and I are both half Filipina). I try to stay away from it though and just focus on the veggies. I'll have to see about getting the Syntrax Nectars. Right now I'm using Isopure but I mix it with almond milk. So instead of it being 0 carbs I'm getting about 12 or 13 because of the milk.
