Got my date!!! It's approaching quick!!
Hey guys! This is all new to me! I just got word from my insurance company that I am approved!! I can't believe it, it was was long road but all my work, tests, & appts paid off. My date for the sleeve is March 24th, does anyone have any pointers for me?! I don't know too many people who have had this done to talk to. Do's & dont's?? How long do most people need off from work? Hope to hear from you guys!
I had an RNY not a sleeve but plan on a couple of weeks off if you can and think about what kind of work you do. I work from home and was able to keep up with the bare minimum after the first couple of days. Most Drs have a no lifting weight limit for a while, so talk to your Dr about that. And it is major surgery so you need a while to get back on your feet and get down your routine for eating and drinking.
My biggest pointers are to decaf and decarb now. Learn to not drink with meals and to take tiny bites, the size of a pencil erraser. Read everything you can and go to all the training classes available to you.
And stick around here!!!
