FRIDAY GRATEFUL POST
Happy Valentines Day !!! Happy Friday as well. We ALL have so much in life to be grateful for. None of us have any guarantees in life that we will be alive in the next few hours. We need to be grateful for every little thing in our lives. We all seem to take life for granted. I lost a very good friend who dropped dead 2 days ago. LIfe is short and we need to hold tight to the people that we love and let them know how much they mean to us everyday. I am so grateful for ALL my friends whether you are a online friend that I have never met face to face or whether you are one of my very best friends. Grateful for my husband who found out yesterday that he has COPD. Grateful that although there is no cure there is a treatment that will give him a better quality of life. Grateful for Valentines day and for the love that I have for my family and friends. Grateful for my WLS, Life, my health, and OH. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today. Have a blessed day !!! Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Vivian, my DH also has COPD. There are very good drugs out there but the thing that helps my guy most is staying active. It is hard and he has to use oxygen but the more active he is, the less dependant on the O2 he is. Love to both of you.
And I am grateful the sun is shining and the snow is melting.

Thank you Price. I think he is going to have to start exercising whether he likes it or not. He says he walks at work but that is part of his job and I'm pretty sure that isn't considered exercising. My hubby has on a scale of 1 being lightest case and 4 being worse. He is a 3, the lung specialist said with meds he can be maybe a 2. He Was prescribed Spireva. He is also going to have a sleep study done and get a CPAP. He's not giving up yet and I'm going to do my best to help him loose some weight. Love to you too my friend.

when Russ was first diagnosed, they sent him to Duke to talk about lung transplants. I think it scared the daylights out of him and he started exercising and lost weight and did great for a while. Then, slowly he stopped. When he had his stroke a year ago, he really stopped. He has started walking again and going to the gym with me. He still sits way too much (retired) but is doing better and he really can tell a difference which is motivating. He also did a pulmanary rehab therapy group this past year that was very helpful. They talked a lot about diet and exercise and got him going again. See if he can get into something like that. It helped Russ to hear it from someone other than me, LOL
