Hi Roz

Why is the reply box so small???  Hmmmm...

Anyway - I'm on liquids after noon today because of my upcoming surgery tomorrow.  I did cheat a bit and had a SF pickle spear, a few peanuts and 1 bite of pork chop.  I don't think it will kill me....  It was my night to cook for my daughter and her family.  I used the low-carb breading I found and they both loved it.  I have been cooking a LOT this past 10 days or so since we've been on this uber low-carb eating lifestyle (didn't call it a diet.. )  It's working for us both (sister and me), so we're sticking to it.

Got a copy of my labs today.  I was pretty happy to see how good they were except my Cholesterol!  It's back to pre-surgery numbers... not sure why.  I also had labs taken when I went for my pre-op appt and they are going to give me a copy tomorrow.  It will be interesting to compare them as when those were taken I was on this low-carb for awhile and I hadn't been drinking.  I realize it takes time for nutrients to change, but still....  my B12 was awesome, my D was good too (and it was tagged as "high")...  my protein was good, calcium, iron, but didn't see a Ferritin #... I've always had a ferritin #...

B - coffee and bacon and eggs

S - SF pickle spear

L - I don't remember - but bacon/eggs was pretty late in the morning...

S - sf pickle spear/peanuts

D - chicken broth - yuk!

Vits:  yes

WAter:  ok

My cholesterol was up again also.  I was afraid one of the Drs would want me back on statons but even with a 220 total, they didn't unless I wanted it and I didn't.  It has to be genetics, not diet.  What is your breading again?  I remember it was pork rines and something.

Mine looks normal size Jody.

I'm planning on getting my labs taken next Friday.  I don't want to wait much longer.  I'm worried about my Protein total since I'm not allowed the Protein drinks.

OH...you posted this yesterday!  I guess you are having your surgery today (Friday).

Sounds Good!

I am late posting but since I ate like a bottomless pit yesterday - or so it seemed I figure I better own up and more on today...

B:  coffee then protein yogurt = 38g

S:  Nuts and 2 slices of chicken breast = 15g (way too many nuts)

L:  more deli chicken breast w/ pesto and cheese and nuts :(  = 20g

D:  Chili w/ greek yogurt and guac and salsa = 15g

S:  Protein bar - only one bite and threw them all out.  This is dangerous for me - first one since surgery and I felt like I was eating a snickers bar!  My DS#3 asked if it was on my plan and i felt like I was busted. terrible feeling and even though it technically is on plan I decided it's not for me.  So in the bin and on to better choices.

S:  Hot chocolate protein = 23g

All my vits and water - no miles so that didn't help with my bottomless pit felling!

I've never been able to control Protein bars.  They just make me crave more.  There is only 1 bar that my Dr. allows me to have and it's made by Nature Valley.  It is Gluten free, called Almond Crunch, has Almond, peanuts, and sunflower seeds.  I've been able to handle it better than I can a handle full of nuts. I just can't stop when I eat nuts.

Sounds Good!

sliced lemon or lime is good and low sugar.  I have heard of using fresh mint, but haven't tried that one, citrus just freshens it up to me.  Adding  a pkg of splenda is good with the citrus.

Lemon and Lime gave me heart burn before WLS so I pretty much avoid those.  Someone else told me to try fresh mint and some other herbs.  I am enjoying my peppermint tea so I might enjoy the mint.
