Menus and Miles Monday Jan. 27th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
Good Morning Beautiful/Handsome LW's!!!!! Early this morning DH was screaming for me to come and look out the sliding glass door at the snow. Our yard was covered with snowballs! It was the craziest thing I ever seen. The wind was so bad last night that the snow was rolled up into large snowballs. It was really cool!!! We could have built mini snowmen all over our yard. Our DD's yard is more of a slope than ours and her snowballs were even bigger.
I mentioned an acquaintance a while back who had the gastric bypass. She had called me and asked about my surgery. I saw her at Walmart and she was buying Flintstones Vitamins. We talked for awhile but I could tell the conversation wasn't going to end well so I decided to let her do her thing and not worry about it. I saw her this morning and she said she is really tired and they don't know why. The first thing I mentioned was Protein and B-12 and she said they did blood work and said that was good although she didn't know where it was in the range of good. She said she is at goal but I don't think that means a normal BMI. I know my Surgeon's goal for me wasn't a normal BMI and I am so glad I was open minded enough to listen to the LW's before me who offered their guidance and I am so glad I have my LW's to encourage me when I am struggling or down. Every day I learn something new from our LW's.....Thank you for posting consistently and always willing to welcome new posters of every surgery type. YOU are what makes this LW Board successful!

It's really tough when you want to help someone but know it will fall on deaf ears. Well done for not getting to emotional, nothing good would have come from that. And I must say how great full I am to have found this group because I can't really take the stress of the RNY board full time. This is just the right dose to keep me focused and on track. I really am greatful you all post here and are willing to share your menus and misc. stuff. I don't think I'd be this close to goal this soon without your help and support.
B: coffee then protein yogurt = 38g

Thank You for posting our the LW Board!!! The LW board is the reason I am at goal and maintaining!!! I really appreciate your responses and encouragement! I tried the main boards early out but no one wanted to answer any questions that a newbie had. Especially a LW newbie.
On these cold evenings I really wish I could have a hot chocolate protein drink. I do have Hot chocolate on my "yes" list so maybe I will try to find it locally and add some of the unflavored protein I have ordered. I will have to look at the sugars to see if I can handle it.
I could eat Wendy's Chili every day so I understand.
Sounds Great!

Do you make your own beef soup? I am really missing having soup on these cold days. I tried making beef but it didn't turn out very good. Really blah tasting. I'm going to ask the Dr. this evening if she ever buys soup out.
Sounds Good Price!!!

I do make my own. This time I started with a soup starter but only because I had one. Usually it is just onions, celery, ground beef or stew beef, garlic, then whatever veggies. Sometimes I use frozen soup mix but it always has a lot of carrots and potatoes which are higher in carbs. I usually use green beans, cabbage, and maybe a can of beans. You have to put some broth cubes in or it doesn't have much flavor. A bay leaf and some other herbs help too. Then let it simmer in the crock pot.
