Menus and Miles Friday Jan. 24th
I don't remember seeing the weather like this before. States that are usually warm are cold and states like ours that are cold are freezing. We have friends in FL who are wearing winter clothes (getting teased because it's in the 50's) because they are used to 70 being their low.
Hot Chocolate Protein is something I am missing on these cold days. I can't have chocolate and I can't have Protein. I guess I always crave what I'm not allowed to have. I've been drinking a lot of hot tea but getting bored with it. Surprisingly I never got bored with my Protein drinks.
Sounds Good!

Can you have chicory? Or raw Cacao? If you can have eggs can you have a protein supplement made from eggs? Here is a link to the company I get my non-syntax nectar protein supplements in the U.K. They have a egg white powder protein that might work for you and maybe you can find it's equivalent in the States. I am really racking my brains thinking of something that will help you get it all in without eating like mad. HAng in there!

I found an egg white one and I'm going to copy the ingredients and see what she says. She probably won't like the way it is processed. I'm also going to take a copy of an Unflavored one. Flavoring seems to be a no no word for her. Both the Mint Cookie (chocolate is the no no word) and the Lemon Tea (citric acid) did make me hurt within 15 minutes or so of having them.
On the other hand just because it works for some people doesn't mean it works for everyone. She told me to buy a certain kind of vanilla tea and my bladder has been cramping ever since I had it.
I really appreciate your suggestions!

Is his car running ok now? I've been having trouble with mine not wanting to shift in this cold so I have to start it and let it run awhile.
white knuckle decarbing....first time I've heard that one...hahaha. Sometimes I wonder if this whole bladder thing isn't an answer for a Prayer I sent up asking God to help me control my cravings for carbs and sugars. He knew I needed a kick in the butt or I wasn't going to listen....lol.
I'm sure you had enough Protein to offset your tiny piece of cake.

He hasn't reported any more odd noises. Maybe he took his dad's advice and is letting it warm up some. He told us he got to work 40 hours last week. That's a good thing because we figure he will run out of money by March and might have to come back home.
I got your list of foods and it looks like you have enough there to stay pretty low carb if you work at it, and I might try to see if I can follow along a bit. I'm thinking you can work this new diet until you heal up and then maybe start adding back some of your less acidic shakes. I took a gamble and am trying another antacid rather than only the Zantac and it's working really well. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us.

I'm glad he is working more hours. He hasn't found anything in his field yet?
I am amazed at how my ankle isn't swelled. I actually haa loose skin from so many years of swelling. Except for the protein I am doing pretty good on the new food plan. The hardest part is shopping and I need to just take the time to make myself a list for each store. I usually go to Giant Eagle but I go to a smaller one so I'm going to have to switch stores. The bigger one has a huge gluten free section and she said a lot of the foods are in that section. We got a lot of snow today so I asked DH if he would take me. I haven't gotten an answer yet but if I mention stopping to see the grandson's he will probably jump up. If not we will do it another day. There aren't many days that he doesn't have to go out in the cold so I'm letting him sit in his recliner all covered up until I catch up with things. PS: he just got up to shave...that's a good sign!!
She shot down the Jay Robb Vanilla because it is an Isolate. She says Isolate means they break it up with electrical currents and that is MSG. I'm going to check out their unflavored today and see what it says. The two words I am suppose to look for first are natural flavors and that shouldn't have any since it's unflavored.
Are you getting heartburn? I don't get it any more (I guess it moved to my bladder) I take Prilosec every day because if I don't I get hunger pains which probably is another form of heartburn.

No, still nothing in his field. Maybe his micro brewery hobby will develop into something.
JayRobb is about as natural as you can get. I sure hope she knows what she's talking about and not assuming.
I've been fighting breakthrough heart burn for the past 6 months and was to the point of trying your diet until I found this medication I'm trying right now. So far, so good.

She didn't like the word isolite. She says that's means it is broken down with electric shock waves and that is MSG. I might order a couple samples just to see if I cramp. I'm going to make a copy of the unflavored and the egg protein and take it to my next visit.
My friends daughter has this and she said she avoids anything that makes her cramp. Just like heart burn...everyone is different. The Dr. told me to buy a certain vanilla flavored tea that she uses and I tried it this evening and I have been cramping ever since.

Extreme here too, 2 when I got up, windchill -12. No outside exercise for me, taking care of the horses is enough time in those temps.
Went to the DMV for a new license today and the examiner was so nice. He was amazed at the difference in my pictures, 5 yrs ago and today. Yep, amazing what 100 lbs would do. He thought I looked 5 yrs YOUNGER instead of 5 yrs older.
