1st new bra since surgery

First shopping trip actually. First time seeing myself in a fitting room mirror. I'm not sure what I thought I'd see but what I saw was kind of scary. I didn't get a bra either. I kind of want to order online but I have no idea what size I am now and the 20 year old size 0 girl that measured me was nowhere near correct considering the bra I tried to wrestle myself into and the amount of back fat and front boobage that was protruding past the straps. Ugh. I hate fitting room mirrors

Oh geez... I remember those days.  I had the side boobage and had to have high fitting bras under my armpits to contain it.  Even after my BL/BAA I still have a little that will hang out in the wrong bra.

What store did you go to?  My first bra shopping was at Victoria Secret and I couldn't find ANYTHING that fit me right.  Then Nordstroms and they fit bras.  They seem to be a little more accurate in their measuring and the bras they have aren't trying to make you all that sexy... just to bring the girls up where they're supposed to be.

Good luck!

I still wear a lot of Ah bras for everyday.  I finally last year went to a really good bra shop and spent a fortune buying 2 bras that fit and looked ok.  I must have tried on 30.  I ended up with something really weird size wise but it fit and help with the side and back issues.  Don't spend a fortune until you are done losing.  Just get something that holds everything in place for a while.  There is a soft Bali that is good and you can get the Ah bras for pretty cheap these days.

Good luck.  I remember the ug feeling.

I only wear Genie or Ah type bras.  Walmart sells them 2 for $9 and I have them in all kinds of colors.  I tossed out all my other bras, which felt like torture wearing.  I like the Genie type bras because they give me support and minimize my unfortunate botched implants.  Normal bras make me look like an aged porn star.  I also like that I don't have to worry about a strap showing or any part of the bra showing since it looks like I am layering.  In the summer I wear them with tank tops and halter type tops.  I would advice people at least in the losing phase to try them out until the weight stabilizes.  I was hoping that as I lost weight the boobs would go down but they stayed pretty much the same :(

If you sew at all et is easy to take in the sides of bras while you are losing. But when the cup size decreases you will need to purchase. Goodwill has bras for a few bucks to hold over to goal.

Thank you all so much!! I went to Victoria's Secret. I should have known. I went there once after my breast reconstruction after breast cancer and the girl told me "we don't have bras for people like you" I don't know what I was thinking. I'm going to try the aha or genie bras. I would try to take them in but the wires are killing me because the cup size is wrong. I've had wire issues since the bc. I guess I just wanted to shop at a regular store which probably goes back to the bc not being fat.

I used to get mine a little small for more support but of course they were more uncomfortable.  Now I get them the right size and there have just as much support and feel a lot better.

I tried VS early out and I couldn't find one to fit me (I was also embarrassed having a young girl measure me) so I went to Nordstrom's and found one I really liked but as the weight came off that type of bra made me look flatter and flatter. Now I only buy the VS multi way Body bra. Don't let the cup size scare you because I think there bras are sized differently than other bras.   It holds up my sagging boobs and covers the sag under my armpits.  I look pretty good with my clothes on....lol.
