ok question about labs
on 1/21/14 6:55 am
I had some labs done by my PCP last week because she was worried I am anemic because my bp is low 90/60 ( I don't think that is super low) She worked me up for anemia. She called me today and my Vit d, Vit B12, red blood counts were all fine, bilirubin fine, platelets fine.. But my WBC was low and my liver enzymes were high. of course I am off my cholesterol meds so my cholesterol is 190 (ugh) She of course told me not to lose any more weight (easier said than done) I am going to a hematologist for the WBC and am sending the results to my bariatrician for the liver enzymes. Anyone else had these particular abnormalities post op?
I have been having a touch of an ache below my right shoulder blade, so maybe that is why the enzymes are up (gall bladder?)
Of course I got on the interweb and diagnosed myself with all kinds of fatal diseases lol.
If I finally got to goal and end up being sick, I AM GOING TO BE TICKED!! haha.
Anne
My WBC runs a little low now and my liver enzymes run a little high. It must be pretty normal for post-WLS folk because I've seen it over and over on people's labs. Get a copy of those labs for yourself and your bariatrician. Normal D3 and B12 aren't good enough for us, we need them to be on the high side because we can drop so quickly.
