Menus and Miles Thurs. Jan. 9th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
GOOD MORNING!!! Just have to share this because I am so excited!!!!! I am down 3.5 pounds since my Dr. Appointment last Friday!!! 1.5 since Sunday's weigh-in!!! .5 from being in the 119's where I have Maintained for the last 3 years!!! I've thought all along that my body has felt bloated. My ankles look normal, the veins are popping in my hands again, and when I look down while sitting my tummy isn't bulging out! Decarbing, increasing my Protein foods, and only eating from the list of foods (no MSG) that the Dr. gave me is moving the scales in the right direction!! 3 nights of little cramping and getting some sleep probably helps a lot too...especially my emotions and frame of mind. The sad part is that it's not willpower but the Fear of Cramping that is keeping me on track. I sure hope I learn from this!! WLS and "BAD CARBS" don't go together!!!

That is fantastic news Roz!! You are for sure onto something... I took your everythoughtful and accurate advice and went back to drinking my shakes in the afternoon and evening (I stopped hoarding my protein powder as I finally received my hideously overpriced - Yes 160€ = $219 for 2 tubs of Syntrax nectar delivered to Belgium - and I lost 1.5 kilos in 2 days! No mysteries there I guess - protein and water work wonders as usual. I was wondering if Agave Syrup is approved on your list of sweetners? This has been a Godsend in my house where soy and chemicals are big no no's for my boys. It has the consistency of honey and is not gaggingly sweet. We use it for all kinds of baking and in yogurt, tea etc. Just a thought....
B: Coffee then Protein Yogurt = 38g
L: 3 slices of deli chicken breast w/ hummous and a few mixed nuts = 20g
S: 2 slices of deli chicken and a cheese stick = 15g
S: Lemon ice tea protein = 23g
D: Ricotta Bake w/ spinach salad = 12g
S: Hot choclate protein = 23g
Housework + 2 liters of water + all vits
I don't see Agave Syrup listed. All she has listed is Splenda, Stevia, and Sweet & Low. I'm not allowed to use Equal, NutraSweet and Truvia. I will check into it. I usually use Splenda.
If I could mail you protein cheaper I would!!!

HI Roz - SO glad you're scale is moving - woohoo!! I definitely know what you mean by a fear keeping you on track. Same with me and my RH... I avoid bad carbs.. but good carbs still can sneak in if I'm not cognizant.
B - coffee
S - Protein hot chocolate. I'm in the office today and I have a canister here. I got "hungry' but didn't want to eat my lunch just yet... it did the trick.
L - Beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon w/ mushroom sauce
D - no idea, probably going out, but I'll make good choices.
Vites: No - I forgot them AGAIN! ugh.. I do SO well, then one day mess up and BAM - I forget again. I remember thinking this morning I needed to take them, but my mind has a very limited track nowadays and SO easy to get distracted!

Right now the cramping is keeping me under control but I'm sure it will be harder after I feel better. I'm hoping the scales getting down to my maintenance weight will do the trick since I've experienced hating the 120's!
Did you buy Protein hot chocolate or is it Chocolate Protein in ho****er or a hot chocolate mix. I can't have chocolate but I was wondering.
Your mind being on a limited track could be because you aren't taking your vitamins.....
Keep up the good work Jody!!!

Hi Roz, I'm glad you turned a corner and are doing so much better.
I know you don't stray off the LW board, so you may not be aware that OH is 16 years old - who'da thought it. I lurked on OH for about a year pre-DS and I'm just about 18 months out, so I've only really known about OH for 2.5 years. I'm sure it used to say how long someone's been a member by their username, oh well maybe that info will come back in a future upgrade.

That's a long time! I have a friend who had hr WLS many many years ago. If I see her at the competition this weekend I'll have to ask her how long it's been. I'm sure there have been a lot of improvements in the surgeries and the boards.
That's a lot of cheese you had today! Doesn't it bind you up?

Nope, the laxatives finally took effect so I'm gonna dial it back a bit with those. It's frustrating with laxatives as there's always a time lag with those, up to several days and you just have to keep tweaking the dose.

Roz, that is great news. Hurray for you and your new Dr.
I went to the knee guy today and he said what I thought. What I have is what I have, come back in a few years unless something changes. So I will deal with the lack of movement. At least it doesn't really hinder me much and it isn't constant pain like it was before.
I've been getting my exercise in walking to pack the trailer to head out tomorrow. I am so looking forward to getting away. This past 2 weeks have been unbelieveablely stressful with work stuff. The normal stuff was enough but then I had some additional to deal with. It has settled down but I ended up having to fire staff and now need to replace them. ugg
On top of all of it I am getting a cold. Got some zicam so hopefully that will get it stopped quickly.
