Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!   Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!

Lightweights....I'm so glad we are here for each other!!!  I've been pretty whiny lately and I'm glad you listened to me and are still posting...lol.  Thanks to Gina for the late night messaging it calmed me just knowing you were there for me!!   I thought once I was maintaining I had this whole WLS thing  figured out and now I am remembering what I felt like when I was a newbie.

Newbies we are ALL here for you!!!  I know it's a little overwhelming when you have your Surgeon, Nutritionist, Family members, Other WLS friends, and yes even us LW's giving you advice and telling you what you should or should not be eating/drinking.  I found a NP who actually has IC  that I feel I can trust and I can notice a difference already.  Find out who you can trust!  Someone *****ally knows what they are talking about.  It's sooo much better when your advice comes from someone who understands what you are going through.

On a lighter note:  I've always been against eating Bars.  The always gave me a sugar rush and craving more (like eating a candy bar)  but my NP had me try one in her office that I feel is something I can eat and not have any guilt or cravings.  You have to love nuts though! It's called Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch.  The one she gave me is Almond Crunch.  roasted almonds, peanuts, & sunflower seeds.  It's gluten free and doesn't have MSG.  I bought my box at Target but she said they sell it at Walmart too. I seen other Nature Valley bars at the grocery store in the cereal isle but those were the kinds I like to avoid.

You must feel really thrown for a loop having to make these kinds of changes this far out. I appreciate so much your chatty candidness as well as your willingness to include newbies in your circle. I look forward to seeing what solutions you can find as you navigate your new diet needs. I know from my own experience w/ my boys allergies ( I cried when my pediatrician told me my first born was allergic to dairy, he was 6 months old and all I could think of was that he'd never eat pizza or cheese! And the doc shook his head and said " milks good for cows" ). It's hard not to be overwhelmed early on,but you'll get the hang of it.

I went to the grocery store blinded last night.  I need to make a grocery list and then look at her list and write down the brand names.  I don't usually buy off brands.  Her list is made up for places like Walmart, Bottom Dollar and Aldi's, I don't want to jump all over the place.  She has a few things listed for my grocery store but not enough to make a difference.  I'm going to have to take a day and look at the other stores to see what their ingredients say.  Gina suggested writing to the companies I usually use and see if they have MSG in them. I got a response from Land of Lake and their is no MSG in their products so I don't have to switch butters which will make DH happy.

Good Protein total!

I would love to see that list, Roz. I keep wondering if there is something other than acidic foods that is kicking off my recent stomach acid issue.  Perhaps it's MSG and acidic food.

HI Roz!  We all have food issues - in one way or another.  I think you posting what is bothering you is making the rest of us think about what we are eating and how it affects us.

Now bars:  yes, I am the same way,  There are a *few* Atkin bars I can eat that I can mentally say are ok, but they still are like crack to me.  I've had a few with nuts and they upset my pouch, so I stay away.  If I had the discipline to cut it in half and leave it that way maybe...

B/L - coffee and 4 pieces of bacon, 1 1/2 over easy eggs and 1 piece of burnt wheat toast

D - chicken cordon blue - YEA - it finally turned out good and moist.  My past attempts have been dry

S- I'll try to refrain.. but if I do will probably be popcorn since I have nothing else here!

Vits:  yes

Water:  low.  As usual...
