Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
I started posting on M&M but got the urge to write a "book" on Facebook (didn't want to subject you all)...haha.
HAPPY 2014!!!!! What goals do you have this year? When I started this journey over 5 years ago I swore I would NEVER start a diet on New Years Day again! A diet is something I know I can't succeed at. I've been on diets the majority of my life and ALWAYS gained the weight back. As I look at my scale that has creeped up a few pounds I wonder what the difference between a Diet and WLS is. The first word that comes to my mind is Protein. If I want to maintain on my RNY I have to eat/drink protein and cut "bad" carbs out of my daily routine. So...I'm not going to "DIET" but I am going to "Decarb" starting today.
What word comes to your mind?

Tunisia again. It should be several degrees warmer than at home, so that sounds good to me ;-)

Hi Linda...missed you guys too. I've been well. I actually hit within 1/2 pound of my all time low adult weight in November. Then during a remodling project I fell from a ladder and injured my foot. All gym/exercise came to an immediate halt. I plan on getting back to the gym soon and address those few pounds I added. It is great to see everyone again.
Happy New Year Light Weights! Glad to be home from holidays - our skiing trip was just what we all needed but it always feels good to be home! No resolutions for 2014 - I agree with Honey Pie that they just set you up for failure. I like to take thing one day at a time - this is how I am approaching my life post-op and it works for me not to focus too much on the big picture but to concentrate on the here and now - or this bite, not every bite in the future I will have to navigate! It was tricky for me this holiday season, traveling, being out of my routine, going with the flow. But I did it and the scale went in the right direction so for now that is enough. But man I am looking forward to getting everyone back to work and school so I can wallow in my rut...
