WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Happy Christmas Eve!!!!!!  Do you have a Christmas routine?  We have Christmas Eve service this evening.  It's my calm after the storm and I really look forward to it. Tomorrow will be a day of laughing kids and lots of hugs and kisses.  DH and I cook breakfast for our family (DH makes the best over easy eggs!) and then off to my brothers for our Family Christmas dinner.  My Mom is super excited about Christmas and getting presents.  My friends Dad passed away 2 days ago so I am feeling very blessed to have my Mom still with us.  With the dementia she thinks a child the majority of the time but so far she still remembers us all. 

My DH wrapped for 6 hours yesterday and he still had 3 piles to do.  He is such a trooper!!!!  All I have to do today is get a few gift cards and one more Nerf gun.  No clients today so we are making Cinnamon Almonds at work  and the office reeks of Cinnamon!  I

Hi Roz!  Happy Christmas Eve!

No, we don't have any traditions here.  Never know where everyone is going to be and work schedules (my daughter has to work tonight).  She told me presents are at 7:20 tomorrow morning then she's going to bed.  I'm supposed to take breakfast over... and unfortunately it's not something I can make ahead of time - so tomorrow may be an early morning for me too.  My ex (her dad) and his wife are there too.. 

My son and I were trying to get him home tomorrow, but his boss won't let him go, even though the trip he was supposed to fly got canceled.  He starts with a new boss in Feb... he's happy about that and so am I.  I looked at flights to go down and see him, but outrageous this close...  Also, his birthday is Friday... poor baby - first Christmas away from the family and friends... he's bummed.  I think now though he is going to be able to spend it with his girlfriends' family... since he'll be home.  

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but my folks' power is out and they're staying with me.  The power company is saying Saturday now.. geez... my sister is here too, and while I'd like to say it's "one big happy family"... it's not.  my sister has a bug up her butt about something last night.  UGH... If it gets any worse I'll just pack up my car and drive back to VA.  Too bad when I'm the one that leaves when it's MY house!!  Oh well... i have to determine the worse of the 2 evils - hanging out at my daughters' with the ex, or here with everyone biting each others' heads off - lol.  

I got up this morning and made breakfast for everyone.

I don't envy your situation.  Whatever happended to "peace on earth"? 

Why don't you do a breakfast casserole that you can make tonight and stick in the oven tomorrow morning?  That would be easier.

Jody, I hope your day got better!!  I can't imagine not have power for that long-wow.

So Jody who did you choose to be with?  Are your parents at home now?

Is your son still dating the same girl?  I think you mentioned before he might be asking her to marry him.  Did that ever happen?   Is he getting a new job or a new boss?

We made breakfast casseroles for our grandson's dedication and they were so easy and turned out soooo good.  I wanted to do that for Christmas morning but the oldest DGD's put up a fuss.

I got up Christmas morning and went to my daughters' to see the girls open their presents.  Then I came back and took a nap - lol.  Things settled down here after a day or so.  My parents left yesterday and went home.  Their power came back on Christmas eve.

Yes, my son is still dating the same girl, but he never asked her to marry him.  I'm not sure what's holding him back, but it's his decision.  

He is going back to work for the original 3 guys that hired him a year ago.  One of the guys broke off and took Alan with him... he's the one that isn't a nice boss... The other 3 are bringing on a new guy and Alan really likes working for them.  He'll get a raise too from the sounds of it, and a new plane to fly.  This plane has him all excited as it's a turbo prop jet and will give him great experience for his resume.  

I'm glad your holiday turned out better than it began.  I'm glad to hear your parents got their electric back on and everything worked out.  My brother is the head of the traveling Electrical crew for his company and they left for Michigan yesterday. Did you get big storms in your area?  He was on the phone Christmas day calling his guys.

I always thought it was nice that you and your EX can share family events together.  My DD's EX won't even sit near us at our DGD's softball games or at their singing programs.  It really upsets our oldest DGD because she feels she has to keep going back and forth.  I've told her to just sit with her dad and not to worry about us because we understand. His parents (MOM) are finally starting to talk to us when we are at the same events (his Mom was a WITCH  to me when they were married...she would wait until no one was looking and say horrible things to me) If only she could have been nice before maybe we could have helped our kids work things out.  I think she is regretting it now because the new DIL isn't very nice to her and my DD really loved her.

We had our Christmas with our grandson this morning,  Such fun.  He wanted a fish and a jack in the box   He is so adorable. Just spending time with the daughters and  husband today. i will make lasagna for this evening.  Tomorrow we will go to church in the am, then to my sister's in the afternoon.  I am making pulled pork tomorrow. We will be having a fun gift exchange for the adults

I undoubtedly won't be 100% on plan the next 2 days.
