WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
How is your day going LW's???? I'm having a boring day!! Had a client this morning and other than the phone ringing it's kindof dead around here. Ran out to get some bargins at Michaels craft store and I forgot to grab something for lunch. I guess I'm going to have to bare the cold and go out and pick something up. I'll have to update later.
Do you have a favorite cold weather meal or protein drink?

It's cold here. I walked Thor this morning but it is too cold to drive a pony. At 1:30 it is still not 40 and there is a breeze. The breeze is the killer.
For cold weather stuff, I love soup. Eating leftover turkey in a veggie soup right now. I make them with no pasta, potatoes or rice to be more low carb. If I am using any starchy stuff, it is beans or TVP. For drinks, of course, protein coffee, then hot chocolate and even lemon tea warm. I do some herbal teas but not with protein.

With the wind it was -2 this morning. I hope my DH gets cold enough he rethinks not retiring before next winter. His body aches so bad on these cold days. He could hardly stand up straight last night.
I love soup and my DH wants me to make a crockpot of vegetable. What do you use for broth? I've always used tomato soup but I won't be able to use that now.
Sounds Good Price!

I always put some kind of meat/chicken in my soup and then usually add a broth cube or 2 to help flavor. sometimes I'll use on chicken and one beef to provide more flavor. this batch of turkey didn't need it because I used all the turkey drippings after putting it in the frig so I could get the fat off.
I can't imagine being out in the cold all day. A couple of hours does me in.

I can't imagine your poor DH out in the freezing wind and cold all day everyday. I can barely walk to my car without my teeth clacking! As for cold weather food - anything that can be made in the crock pot is my friend! I usually make my own chicken stock due to all the food allergies my boys and husband have and then use it as a base for all kinds of stews and soups. I buy a pack of chicken wings that I brown in a stock pot, I throw in all the veggie trimmings from the week that I've frozen in a bag I keep in my freezer for just this occasion, add salt, pepper and a bay leaf and boil for an hour or two. Skim the fat, throw out the veggies and shred the chicken meat for chicken pie, or chicken soup or taco fillings, salad or...?
B: Coffee then Protein Coffee = 23g
S: Syntrax Lemon Tea Protein Shake = 23g
S: Cheese stick = 5g
L: Turkey bites and Tika flavored greek yogurt = 18g
D: Slow cooked veal roast w/ green beans = 20g
S: Hot chocolate protein = 23g
All vitamins in today, 2+ litres of water and 3 mile walk :)
I use chicken wings or legs because they have bones which make the broth tastier but mostly because it's cheaper. Chicken in Belgium is quite expensive and this allows me to just use it for broth if I don't want to hassle using the meat then it's guilt free. .

I went to Walmart today and bought a heated bed pad, I am having problems sleeping because I just can't get warm
As soon as DH gets home we are heading off to another christmas party. I am taking a giant veggie tray. I plan to just pick a bit, and eat mostly veggies
B oatmeal and egg with banana and a tsp of peanut butter
S cheese stick rolled in deli ham, carrots
L salmon and cucumbers
S cottage cheese and apple
D Christmas party!!
miles treadmill, vites so far so good, fluids 12 cups
I use a quilt. I stay warm in the winter and then are cool in the summer. The padding in them does that.
That's a good idea for the party! If you added a dip you can control what goes into that too.
Good Menu!
