Looking for cheap recipes that are high in protein. Also has anyone used flavored protein mixed with other foods. Like maybe protein powder mixed with oatmeal or something like that? Also, has anyone added anything to the ricotta bake? I was wondering how it would be or if it would set if I added tuna to it to give it a boost of protein. I can't imagine it would taste too bad. If no one has tried this I may try it in a little bit of the ricotta bake I make today. Also does anyone know the calories and the protein value for the bakes? ok thanks agian for all of the help. HUGS

Niki on the RNY board has a recipe site and there is The World according to Eggface.  Both have terrific recipies.  I have put vanilla protein in oatmeal, added it to muffin mix or pancakes.  It does ok but changes the texture a little.  I also bought early out some unflavored protein to add to stuff but haven't used it much.  Probably need to so it isn't just sitting around.  It have a flavor so is not truely "no flavor", just isn't chocolate or vanilla kind of flavor.  You can add protein to SF pudding, greek yogurt, cottage cheese kind of stuff pretty easily.  I would think the ricotta bake would be fine with other protein in it.

I use skinnytaste.com at lot as well.  Most of her recipes are weight loss surgery friendly :)  I don't know about adding tuna to the ricotta bake...something about fish and cheese gives me the ickies.  I would add ground beef or turkey sausage but that's just me!

band to sleeve revision and loving life!
