Cauliflower usually isn't a no-no so I hope it's not on your list!!! It's so yummy and fairly nutritious :)

For the Shephards Pie.
tomato paste, Worcestershire, soy sauce and Parmesan cheese are on my "Do Not Eat" list. Can you think of substitutes I could maybe use or are they really necessary.
I think I can have everything in the Cheese Casserole except I have to switch the Sharp Cheddar to Mild.

Hi Roz, I can't believe you are still here. I mean that in a good way. I am looking for the protein powder peanut putter cookie recipe that was posted a few or more years ago. I have not been on this site for awhile, but I guess I should I gained a lot of weight back. Glad to see you are still doing well. Thanks for any help you can give, Mary

Hmm the sauces and tomato paste are really necessary for taste. Why are they on your do not eat list? Is it allergies? I know there is gluten free soy sauce if that's the case. I'm not really sure what would be good substitutes :(

I've been having cramps since August and I was diagnosed last month with IC (interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome) and I'm not allowed anything acidy or spicy. I have a huge list of foods I'm not allowed to have.

Hi;
I am pretty new to WLS and was wondering if the menus you guys post are written down somewhere or you just keep a list in your head? I do use myfitnesspal to record sometimes, but do not write my menus out. That may be a reason I am in a long stall. I start off the day good but by the end I feel too many calories may have gone in. I live off of Greek yogurt, peanut butter and protein bars. I have cut down the wheat crackers because they can be a trigger for me. I feel so limited in my diet, will planning a weekly one work better?
Thanks!
Welcome to our LW Board!!! I'm glad you posted today!!
Other than my dinner my menus don't vary by much. I like being in a routine. If you read Menus and Miles very often you will see that most of the posters are routine eaters.
I would love it if you started posting! It really does help to get feedback and to be accountable for what you put in your mouth.
Any kinds of carbs will trigger you to want more. Wheat crackers, peanut butter, and protein bars are major triggers for me. I haven't found a protein bar yet that is really WLS friendly. Wheat crackers are a definite nono for long term weight loss. If you read the heading I post for M&M you can get my thoughts on carbs. Bad carbs can slow your weight loss and keep you from getting to goal and then keeping it off.
Except for the Greek yogurt where is your GOOD Protein?????? You need to base every meal on Protein and then if you have room you can have a bite or two of something else.

I just read your other post about your Surgeon and how you struggle with food. I'm not writing my thoughts below to offend you....I am REALLY worried about you!!!!! I don't worry to much about calories. It's more the quality of what you eat than the amount.
To be quite honest with you....your Surgeon doesn't have a clue!!!! Protein is our main source of food and if you are getting in only 60 grams a day through food and had a RNY you are absorbing next to nothing. The combination of low Protein in your system because of absorption and eating carbs is probably the reason for your long stall. It is also NOT healthy!! It will slow down your weight loss and possibly damage your organs, hair, skin, etc. IN AS FEW WORDS AS POSSIBLE.......THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO BE HEALTHY OR SUCCESSFUL!!! Even on WW you are taught to eat a balanced meal. Can you live on yogurt, peanut butter, and protein bars the rest of your life???
Have you lost any hair yet? Are you taking ALL of your vitamins, Calcium Citrate, B12 that are necessary after WLS?
My suggestion to you is to find a Protein Drink that you like so you can up your Protein. (try this sample pack: http://www.si03.com/reg_index.htm or from Vitalady.com. I get at least 81g a day just from my Protein Drinks. Then I have Protein at every meal. Carbs are last on the list. If I only have PB occasionally and it's not more than a TBS. Personally I think Protein Bars are just fillers and of no benefit. I'm not sure what kind of wheat crackers you use but did you know they put coloring in them to make them look brown and healthy?
