Menus and Miles Monday Dec. 9th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
Happy to be back!!!! This was a rough weekend of eating!!!!! At the competitions there are carbs, carbs, and more carbs. Before my bladder problems I took things like jerky, pizza chips, fruit, etc. I think I'm going to have to buy a small cooler for our away competitions this year. Fortunately our hotel room is connected to the Convention Centers or Areanas and I can go back and refill it if I need to. Then our DD's decided to go to a restaurant called the Melting pot. Everything is cooked in pots at your table. Dessert is Melted chocolate with plates of things to dip....YUM but dangerous.....LOL. Thank goodness I still dump and know my limits!!
We love going to the All-Star Cheer Competitions but boy do they take a lot out of you. 2 in one weekend was over the top though. Total for the weekend was: almost 300 girls, 11 teams, 18 performances, 16 Firsts and 2 Seconds, 5 Level Champs, 1 Grand Champion and many individual team awards like dance etc. Nothing better than winning locally!!!! My DD's program has grown from 1 squad of 23 girls to being the largest Competitive All-Star Cheer Program in PA. We travel all over the US competeting and as far as I know she is the only Coach in the US who Coaches every single team.

Your Food Diary For:
Monday, December 9, 2013I am also planning a walk with the hubby to be later... he just went to store to pick up leashes for the dogs. I can't wait to spend time iwth him in this way.
Wow Roz - sounds like a fun weekend but I'm exhausted for you all! Eating in those kinds of events is very tricky - I'm nervous about it myself as my middle son competes in Olympic gymnastics at a national level here in Belgium. His competitions start in February and I hope by then I'll have a better handle on my food and traveling. Fingers crossed!

Love gymnastics!! What's his best event? All Star cheer is all about tumbling! Our teams winning locally brings a lot of the good tumblers coming to our gym.
Love the variety!!!

My son is too young yet to have a special event (he's almost 12) but he prefers the parallel bars and the rings. He is part of a team and the whole team competes usually, and then the top three gymnasts perform each event. Tumbling is such a good workout! My brother has 2 girls that compete in hip hop dance competitions all over the West Coast. And is wife is a former competitive Cheer Leader! Funny that! :)
I love to watch boys gymnastics. It amazes me how they can hold themselves up on the rings. We have an all girl team but there are a few of the local squads who have boys. I love to watch them tumble.
We have a group locally called Pittsburgh Poison who compete in hip hop. I enjoy watching the hip hop more than any of the other dances. Who did your sister-in-law cheer with?

She is originally from Virginia - but it was 20 years ago so I've no idea! But she is still very hard core and her girls ( aged 7 and 9 ) love to compete in their hip hop. I think they are addicted to the cool outfits and hairdos! My boys are a bit horrified by some of the photos and video clips of their cousins! The youngest is almost a contortionist she is so flexible - maybe they'll have a career at Cirque du Soleil someday?
Mine is just à tub of ricotta dumped in a bowl where I mix in a beaten egg, 100g of grated Parmesan cheese, chopped basil or other herbs, maybe chopped spinach. Then I put a tablespoon of tomato sauce, or chopped tomatoes, a spoonful of ricotta mix and top w/ more sauce into a silicon muffin liner. I bake for 15 min or so. I make dozens and then keep in fridge overnight then freeze them. They pop right out into a ziplock bag and microwave in just a minute. Perfect for quick meals or when family eats pizza!
