Menus and Miles Monday Nov. 25th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
Good Morning LW's!!! I hope you ALL had a great weekend! Holidays are just around the corner, office parties, and family get togethers. Are you prepared to face munchies, buffets, desserts and drinks that you normally don't include in your daily menus? If possible find out what is being served ahead of time and then stick with the plan!! Even 1 or 2 bites can set off the sweet and carb monsters but if you need to try a few things that's a better way to go. Fortunately I still have the fear of dumping so just that keeps me under control most of the time. I've found that if I make my rounds talking to everyone I usually don't eat as much because if I start eating right away it is harder for me to stop. Remember this is NOT a diet it is a life long commitment.
I could not find a turkey over 20 lbs. so I'm going after work to buy another one around 10 lbs. We had just enough stuffing last year and not much turkey left over so DD#1 and I decided I better just cook 2. 1 month until Christmas!!!!!! I told my family I need lists by Thanksgiving.

Hello Roz!
Hope your bladder cramps are doing better today. It is amazing how food affects us.
Great tips on planning ahead for the holidays, try to have a plan and stick to it. I just have to remember that when I mess up, not to throw in the towel and just start over with the next meal or day. I know yesterday from being so over tired I just made some really bad choices, but back on plan today.

Thanks for asking! I had a couple good days but last night and today I have been crampy. I couldn't think of anything different except the salad and dressing I had for dinner last night.
Being tired is my worse enemy when it comes to making good choices!!! When I dieted and blew it I gave up most of the time thinking I failed once again. With my RNY I have hope even after I do something stupid!
Sounds Good!!

Can't wait til Christmas! I also can't seem to stop shopping!
Today was a goofy day for me as I had to go for my first post-op labs and I had to be fasting and the appointment was at 11am. So I have been drinking all day to catch up and try to get rid of the monster dehydration headache. So not my normal meal plan :)

Hope everything went good with your tests and your headache went away!

DH shops? Mine used to but I quit taking him because he picked the girls out dumb things and then would get upset because I said they wouldn't want that. He does all of the wrapping though. I put everything in piles and he wraps. I do a lot of shopping on line but i need lists so I can get started. I will go with DD#1 on Black Friday for the fun of it and she will pick some things out for her 2. Last year we stayed out all night. I'm not sure I want to do that again.
Day 8...that's Awesome!!! Have you noticed any differences?
Good menu!

He goes with the lists and does the shopping or picks up gift cards. I get everything else taken care of.
I lost about 3 pounds last week; don't know what this week will be with Thanksgiving in the middle. lol
