WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!

Update on my bladder cramps.  Well it is definitely certain foods that make me cramp. It isn't long at all after I eat something that I cramp up.  I NEVER would have guessed my choices were what was causing me all of that pain.

Hey Roz, well bladder cramps are no fun hope you get those under control. I had salad for breakfast. Lunch elk roast dinner elk steaks. Pretty boring but weekends I tend to not eat so much. Have a fantastic week.

At least they follow soon after eating the offending item so that should make working out what it is easier.  I'm sorry you're going through, but I'm glad you're on the path to resolving this.

Another lazy Sunday - I think I'm starting to hibernate ;-)

*ETA - I burnt the puff pastry on the chicken pie AGAIN!!  I left loads more space  for it to rise this time and DH didn't smell the burning again!!  I think I'll stop attempting to cook puff pastry as I'm not too sure what to do differently!!

To avoid burning the top - try cooking it at a lower temp (like 150 instead of 180) and then turning it up for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.  I turn up the heat and then set the table so I'm watching it as it can go from perfect to disaster in a minute!  Or try loosely placing some tin foil over it and then removing it a few minutes before it's ready to come out.

We went to church Sunday but then I came home and snuggled up in my comfy sweats.  DH kept asking me if I would go hunting with him.  At first I thought he was kidding but soon realized he wasn't...is he crazy or what????  I don't go hunting on a nice fall day why would he think I would go on a really cold day!!!  Broke down and went to Walmart with him but I really didn't want to.

Sounds Good!

Hope you can easily identify the foods that are causing you to cramp up and then AVOID them!!

Well we had a lovely Thanksgiving gathering last night!  I managed to eat as I should and avoided everything "bad" except for a few bites of stuffing :(  The host forgot to make gravy!  So everything was dry as dust and not very appetizing if I'm honest so I was able to enjoy the company, the moment and the food was just something I ate to fuel my body.  Kinda perfect in the end!

Just a regular Sunday - B:  Protein yogurt 38g

L:  Chicken slices and avocado = 15g

S:  Lemon ice tea protein = 23g

S:  Cottge Cheese = 10g

D:  Leftovers - Turkey + green peas = 15g

All vitamins in and 2L of water - no real miles.

AVOIDING ....that's the hard part.   Although I have avoided my beloved Wendy's chili that I miss desperately!!!!

What happend to all of the turkey juice?  I think my family would run me out of town if I forgot the gravy!!!!  I would be running to the kitchen to make it. I bought an extra turkey and some chicken stock for gravy because last year we ran out of stuffing and gravy. Nothing worse than cooking all of that food and not having any leftovers.

Sounds Good!

Isn't that the truth!  You should have seen the faces of my boys - No gravy!  They were desperate.  The host is a health food nut and she equates gravy with fat.  So no marshmellows on the sweetpotatoes.  She didn't even cook whole turkeys, only whole breasts.  So there weren't any drippings or dark meat.  It was kinda of sad.  But in the end it made it easier for me to not care about it wither way.  But the next day when we had the left overs the boys all begged me to make up some kind of gravy and I swear- it makes all the difference!

As far as lists go for shopping - I recommend your DD's make up Amazon wish lists - if your grandbabies are old enough they can do it themselves.  It is a fun way to "shop" for the person who has a wish list and it makes it easy for the person buying!  My boys LOVE to create their wish list.  Just an idea....:)
