Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!
Morning LW's!!! Thank you for all of the kind messages! When Mom woke up in the morning she was still angry but as soon as the sun came up she was her sweet self. After several days of hydrating her they were finally able to get blood work. Her heart has gotten back to a normal beat and her kidneys are functioning. The Dr. came in to talk to us and of all times my Sister-n-law had to show up. As I mentioned before my Mom lives above my Brother's garage (formerly her home) and my SIL thinks Mom should go to a Nursing home (wants her DD and new Grandson to move into the apt.). I had to play the oldest Sibling role when talking to the Dr. SIL started about Mom using a gas stove and possibly blowing up her house etc. Mom rarely cooks and never once have we found the gas on. The Dr. agreed with my sister and I that if we moved her to a facility she would not just have the first stages of Dementia but she would probably lose her mind completely. Well, we took her home and I spent the night. I didn't hear her move all night. Exhausted today from the competition and dealing with family so I called off today. I have to get DGD at the bus stop in a little while and then heading to my Mom's. My brother took all of the knobs off of the stove so I might have to go and buy her a small easy to use microwave. My brother bought her a huge monster one at Christmas that she just couldn't figure out and it took up most of her counter space. I better make a trip to the grocery store so we can practice using it.

I think we were so lucky that when it came time for my mother to no longer live alone, she made the decision to move to a facility. She was happy there being taken care of and the only thing that she didn't like was that there weren't more men there to watch football with. those decisions are so hard for everyone and seems like there are on right or easy answers. Prayers going to all of you to find the best solution.
I walked this morning but it was cold. Not so much the temp but the wind. I plan on driving Halley but it is still cold and I am waiting for it to warm up some. I did muscle pump last night to get DH to the gym mainly but used light weights. Still sore from my fall but getting better each day.

My Grandmother was in a Nursing home and my Mom was the one who had to deal with everything. When My Mom was younger she said.....if I die before I have to go to a nursing home please be happy for me. I was upset the day she said that but reality is starting to set in that I am going to have to eventually make that decision but I would much rather wait until she doesn't remember me.
I'm glad you are starting to feel better!
Sounds Good!

I'm glad your mom was in a good mood today.
I know what you mean about the constipation. I didn't die last night following yesterday's carbs and I had some more today. I should probably push the fat a bit harder instead but it can be a fine line between normal and the orange oil slicks that DSers get when they've nuts on fat (well I have to go pretty nuts as my tolerance level is easily 150g of fat). Anyways, I'm going to get back on the Greek yogurt when I next get some groceries as that seems to do me good even if I do get easily bored on it!!

Thanks! My Mom sounded much better this morning.
Yogurt with any added fruits is on my do not eat list and I can't stand plain yogurt so that's not a go to food for me anymore. I've always feared fats but some of the other RNY posters don't worry about fats so I am trying to add a few.
Boy did I dump on Nutella...but it was sooooo good! I always put some in my older 2 DGD's stockings because their Mom doesn't allow them to have it very often.
Sounds Good!

Jeez - that sounds like a lot of family drama Roz. I am glad your Mom is home in her own space. I hope you can sort her out - and DSIL too - so that she is happy and safe at home.
Strange eating day for me - I am wondering if Fats are a problem for some of you RNY folks? I have had a few really bad episodes - sick to my tummy, general disgusted feeling, too full, bloaty, just want to throw up and get it out of me feeling - that coincide with eating something high in fat. No sugars but high fat/grease. Happened to me today when I ordered a salad in a restaurant - too much oil in the dressing+mozerrella cheese+ black olive topenade. Delicious, but I still feel yuck 7 hours later! Hmmm...
B: Protein yogurt = 38g
L: Roquette salade w/ mozerella, tomatoes, black olive topenade and pesto drizzel = ? 10g-15g?

All my vitamins and water. Too sore from yesterdays workout to do much more than moan today!
Yes, RNY'ers can dump on fat (I did) for about 2 years.

Sounds like you had a Bad day of Dumping . Fats and Sugar were a big dumper for me and at 5 years out I still have to watch them. I could only have 8 grams of sugar per serving. I rarely ate dressings or a lot of fat products. I still look at the sugar grams and try to stay around 8-10. I don't dump as bad but I still get shaky and feel crappy. I don't mind it like I did early out though. I think of it as a blessing. It keeps me from over doing those things.
Sounds Good!

Hope you start feeling better! My Mom said when she was younger that if she died before she had to go to a nursing home to be happy for her. I thought she was crazy then but I am beginning to understand.
How was the cruise? Did you post any pictures on FB? I haven't been on much lately. Ours isn't for another year and I'm excited already....lol.
