Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!

Happy Hump Day!!!!!!  Have you ever rode on a camel?  Our local Animal Park gives Camel rides (our Gkids love it) and maybe...just maybe I will put that on my bucket list.  My favorite animal is the Elephant and I do have an Elephant ride on my list but we haven't been able to find a place who does that.

Going to take this afternoon off to go and talk to a Finance person.  DH really wants to retire but in my eyes we are to broke for that to happen.  I was hoping he would hold off one more year until our house is paid off.

I understand the "want to retire".  I am right there with him.  I figure I have to hold on for another 5 yrs.  I will be 70 then.  I may have to break down and hire some help for the stuff I do, especially since it keeps increasing with new regulations.

No exercise for me today.  I am moving better but still very very sore.  Plus it is just bitter outside although the sun is shining.

decaf protein coffee  33g
eggbeaters, cheese, kale
hot chocolate protein  30g
chicken thighs

lentil soup

DH works for the gas company and it is getting harder and harder for him to get in and out of the ditches.  He hates working out in the snow but it's the summer heat that he is having a problem dealing with.  I did my part.  I got all of the details but retiring is going to be his decision. I'm not even going to voice my opinion.  I figure I have a job that I love and I have no right telling him he has to deal with something that makes him miserable. I worry about him getting depressed more than anything.

Price you work so hard I don't know how you exercise too!

Sounds Good!   I think I'm going to boil me up some chicken thighs....YUM!

DH retired a few years ago and it was ok when he was playing a lot of golf and keeping busy.  Since his little stroke, I have been ready to boot him out.  He sits and watches TV most of the day.  He will go to the gym with me but he never does anything around the house.  The cold is really hard on his lungs but he could go to the gym and walk or exercise there ever day.  I just can't seem to get him moving.  I think the key is having something that you really like doing.  Hopefully if your DH retires, he will have something to keep him busy, even if it is volunteering somewhere.  DH does do a lot with Special Olympics and that helps keep him busy at times.

My DH HATES Change!!!   I am more terrified of him going into major depression than I am about being able to swing this financially.  Other than riding his golf cart around the neighborhood farms and playing with the grandkids he doesn't do much any more.  He is on a hunting trip this week with his family and every single day he has called and said....if it was up to me we would be coming home. He sleeps a lot now and other than mowing the grass (which he loves to do) he doesn't do much around the house either unless I get after him.  I can't even get him to pick up his clothes and he used to be really good at that.

yep, DH sleeps a lot too.  He sometimes takes a nap after breakfast, LOL.  Then an afternoon nap and is asleep with the TV on until he finally comes to be around 2 or 3.  I think he is crazy.

That's what I'm afraid DH is going to do and I'm afraid I might flip out on him after awhile.

Yep, I think 70 (or 69 +11.5 months less of an issue psychologically) will be the new norm in the UK in the not too distant future - the government has talked about 67 already.

OK, it's a bit huge, but it's the only way I can get this pic in today (not sure if it's the new site or what).  It was in the atrium in our hotel in Tunisia - needless to say happy camel day!! kiss

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

They have made ours 66 now and he will take a cut retiring at 62.   If DH didn't have to crawl in/out of ditches, run a jack hammer, and work in the heat and cold he wouldn't want to retire.  He loves working with his crew and I am so afraid he is going to miss them so much he gets depressed.

Great Menu!
