Early morning edition, Happy Veteran's day!
Just want to give a big thanks to all of you that serve and have served.
Thank You!
Been up since around 4 am! Too early, but it is what it is.
Atleast I will be up and ready to tackle the day. Got some laundry already going. Protein coffee in hand.
I saw Gina posted putting a pork roast in the slow cooker and thought yum! (would like to know if you will share your recipe Gina)
What do you like to make now that Autumn has arrived?
I know my family loves chicken and dumplings and beef stew with dumplings.
And nothing like a roasted chicken, the hubby loves the breast meat, I used too but seem to favor the dark meat since surgery.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks, Maria. Vets do appreciate the acknowledgement. Many women starting serving in the mid 1970s when the doors started opening for women to pursue careers not traditionally thought of as suitable for women. I had a wonderful 30+ year career and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Ah, the pork roast--I have leftovers! o_0 I plan to make some pork stir fry with bok choi this week and a little North Carolina BBQ.

Thanks, Maria...Veterans, their spouses, children, parents and other family all deserve our thanks.
I only spent two years active duty but it was some of the best years (before marriage) of my life.
Dh doesn't like pork in the slow cooker...he prefers I use a rotisserie.
Some of my favorite fall recipes: Sausage Cassolette and Lentil Soup...and Ham & Navy Bean soup.

I also want to thank all the vets. We owe you so much and give you so little in return for your efforts. Let's hope that trend reverses.
I love stews and soups. The lentil that was mentioned reminds me I have a bag in the cubbard that I should be using soon. Also roast, whole chickens, stuff that can be used for lunches for a while. I also make a salad that is canned beans (like black, black eyed peas, chick peas, kidney beans) celery, onion, peppers with a vinegerette than is great for pot lucks and left overs.
