lack of meds NSV
I saw a post on RNY board about this and it made me think and appreciate this more.
Pre OP RNY, I was boarder line needing meds for BP, BS and cholesterol. Now all are normal, so the surgery turned it around to keep me from starting all these meds.
I had sleep apnea with a Bi PAP machine and that is completely cured, I had a new sleep test YEA
I am also weaned off my depression meds now. Part of the reason that I tried to get off these was they upset my pouch every dose! I seem to be handling it fine without the meds. Stress is Just life!
Migraines seem to still be here :( my fioricet works more often than it did before so I take imitrex less often. My migraines are tied to hormones and flux with my cycle. I was hoping the hysterectomy would help with the migraines, but I still have the ovaries so no change. I just don't know when I'm PMSing as easily.
What are your experiences with these issues?

I was on 2 BP meds, 1 cholesteral med, prilosec for GERD, C-pac. Now I just do the prilosec (although I have been out for a week and haven't missed it). Yep, life is good with no meds. My cardiologist couldn't believe it.

I was on 11 medications pre-op...including novolog insulin for my insulin pump and Lipitor at the strongest dose.
I do still take a PPI and am on only 2 meds post-op. Both of the remaining meds are thyroid based and are the only ones (TO MY KNOWLEDGE) that are not affected by the WLS.

I was taking meds for BP, cholesterol, GERD, and using a Bi-pap for sleep apnea. Also on the verge of having to correct a diabetic issue with meds... oh and my thyroid med.
Now... just my thyroid med... and my Bi-pap. I will need to do another sleep study to determine how severe my apnea episodes are... but I believe I will still need my bi-pap... just a lot lower pressure... and it won't kill me if I have to spend the night away from my machine...
All the meds... now replaced by vitamins and supplements... but I would rather do this that continue to deteriorate...
