Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!!!
Did you get through Halloween without sampling all of the candy? I bought different kinds of chips to hand out so I wouldn't be tempted but when my 8 grandkids showed up and dumped all of their candy out on the floor temptation won over. I had a mini snickers, MM peanut, and a really tiny PB cup (didn't know they made them that small) . I didn't having any dumping symptoms which surprised me.
Well I have banned chili, apples and yogurt from my list of go to foods. Those are the 3 things I eat that I know makes me feel like I have heartburn so I'm guessing they are probably to strong/acidy for my bladder to. I also have trouble with nuts if I eat to many so I'm going to eliminate those for awhile too. I've been reading about Interstitial Cystitis and it sounds like mine is not near as bad as some others have it. The ones I read about not only deal with cramping, back pain and nausea but they have to deal with leakage and running to make it to the BR on time. I've been trying to think back to what gave me acid reflux before WLS and those are definitely going to be on my banned list.

Throw away candy???? I'm so glad I bought chips instead of candy. I bought 2 boxes(over 40 bags) and only got 5 Goblins and 8 grandkids knocking at my door.
Who's Birthday?
Sounds Good!

New Drs. took over my Surgeons off but I took a chance and called a Nutritionist there. She was very nice and looked up some websites as we talked. She e-mailed me 2 sites that have long lists of eat/don't eat suggestions. I think if I avoid anything that would have given me heartburn before surgery I will be moving in the right direction. As I look back to my heavier years I had a lot of what I thought were urine infections and I wonder if this couldn't have been my problem all along.

It could've been a sign or the infections led to the new diagnosis. I'm glad you got to talk to the dietitian. More options?

Hi Roz,
We didn't buy any candy because no one ever comes to our house. We had some at work though and I got into it a couple of times. DGD#2 is spending the night tonight and both of them tomorrow night. DH's aunt is back in the hospital so we are going to see her tomorrow. She is not in our town this time so I will only be able to see her on the weekends.
Hope your change in diet helps you feel better soon.
