When I have been in carb overload, I just basically go to Adkins induction.  Protein, green leafy things, no fruit, no starches, very little dairy.  I make sure I am getting tons of fluid and something every few hours.  I make my protein shakes 1.2 scoop with crystal light so I can pretty much have one at all times (other than right after meals).

  • I too just started the Atkins and it is working well for me. It looks like that will be my new normal...I don't eat alot at one time and stay full for sometime. I have really enjoyed my pumpkin shakes. Good luck - now if I could get the exercise going again would be great. LOL.

just remember that milk (regular or lactaid) has 12 gr of sugar - carbs and 8 gr of proteins. So using Milk duiring forst 2 days of teh 5DPT may not really help you decarb.

I used coconut milk. (unsweet)

ok, this is how I make my pumpkin shakes....can pumpkin, about 1/2 C.  water, or milk, less carbs using water, measure the liquid that usually use. Add protein powder, I use Banana Nut, Add 2 splenda, and pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice.  Blend well...enjoy.  I have used cinnamon and ground cloves when I didn't have pie spice. I hope you enjoy it. When I want a pudding consistence I use less liquid. Yum!
