Got a compliment today
Back surgery is scheduled for the 21st at 7:30AM....have to be there at 6AM. Surgeon said I was the HEALTHIEST WLS patient he had seen come thru his practice. (My primary had to pull a basic set of labs but included my D & Thyroid panel as well). I told him that the DS forced us to be healthy or dead!

Good for you! Yep, I heard the same when I went in for my hysti. They couldn't believe I was healthy and said I didn't look like I'd had WLS... it made me wonder what the heck their bariatric program of excellence tells their patients regarding nutrition and vitamins. 
I hope the time goes by fast and you can get this surgery behind you quickly.

Makes me wonder as well, Gina...granted, the hospital I will be in doesn't even have a bariatric dept but there are several in the metro area.
When I talked to the nurse at the hospital, I kept emphasizing the "medically induced short gut syndrome" aspect of the DS...seems it's easier for them to understand that than the DS itself.
