Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I decided to buy a popcorn machine.  I don't like the taste of the "new and improved" 100 calorie packages that I've been using.  I made it without oil and I thought I wasn't going to be able to get it down. It was so dry and I filled up on a really small amount. I've been reading about coconut oil being healthy and that seems to be what most suggest using. Do any of my LW's make their own and what do you use to moisten it up without adding a lot of fat and calories.

I've not made my own popcorn since I was a kid.  It was really great one time and the next time I somehow managed to turn a saucepan totally black, may it RIP, and I've not tried again since then.

Well those SF egg custards had more fat than I consciously realized and I had to get up repeatedly last night!! :-(  One cup of heavy cream in each one and I had 2!  Given heavy cream is ~50% fat, I had an EXTRA cup of fat yesterday... with all the iron and calcium I have it's been at least 6 months since I last had too much fat!!  At least there is an upper limit and I need to keep below 200g fat, something which I'm pretty sure I can easily achieve so long as I remember to engage my brain, unlike yesterday!! :-S

I have an air popcorn popper and I must agree that the popcorn is pretty much dry as dirt.  Here in Belgium, my boys are seen as very strange as they like and want their popcorn to be salty not sweet.  Here at the movies the popcorn is sweet - and not even good like crackerjacks!  I usually make it in a cast iron pot with sunflower seed oil, but I am sure the fat and calories are through the roof!  Haven't had any since my surgery so... sounds good, but I'm no help!

B:  Café au lait + protein yogurt = 38g

L:  Leftover chickpea and pumpkin curry  = 15g

S:  Lemon Ice tea Protein = 23g

S:  10g of cheddar = 8g

D:  Vol au Vent (Belgian version on chicken pot pie filling) = 15g

Water OK but not great + all my vitamins

I am not crazy about sweet popcorn which sounds strange for someone who loves sweets like I do. Our movie theaters make butter popcorn.  I used to love it but I'm pretty sure it would make me dump now.  I've been reading on line and they say to use coconut oil. They say it is a "good" fat????

If you haven't had any since surgery...don't start now....stick with your protein!!!!

Thanks for letting me know what your dinner was...I wouldn't have even tried to figure that one out....lol

Sounds Good!

UGH.  Never have liked sweet or "kettle corn".

I pop mine in a pan with oil.  I then put the spray butter on and salt.  If I feel adventerous (like last night) I melted stick butter.  I'm not afraid of fats either.  I'm not a fan of micro popcorn, and if I do have it, I put butter (unless it's really buttery) and salt on it.

Boy I'm glad it's not Thanksgiving here!  I'm already panicking about Christmas.  I have to cut back this year.  In the last 2 years we have gotten 3 new grandkids, 1 Step-GD, and a new SIL  The amount I used to spend just can't keep going up.

Sounds Good!
