Hello,
I am a newbie and a LW. I am 3 months post-op. I am 5 feet 0 inches HW 200, SW 196, CW 155 GW 120........my question is has anyone tried any of the Premier Protein bars? I love the Premier Protein drinks. I am concerned about how many calories and carbs. the Premier Protein bar have; 30 grams of protein the (yogurt peanut butter) flavored bar have 290 calories, 9 grams of sugar, 25 carbs, and 8 fat grams.......any suggestions on whether or not it's a good idea to include the protein bars in my daily protein intake? My current protein intake is 70 grams......I wanted to increase due to hair shedding and loss.
Welcome to our LW board!!! What kind of surgery did you have?
Before I give my thoughts I need to ask what do you eat besides the Premier Products? I would love to read your daily menu.
There are a few who use the Premier Shakes and the Protein bars but most of us use the Syntrax Protein Shakes and only use Bars occasionally. I personally do not eat Protein bars...too many calories, to many carbs, etc. At 3 months out I only ate 400-600 calories and 290 would have been a HUGE chunk of my daily totals.
I think if you increase your Protein using the Premier (especially the bars) your totals are really going to be high.
Look into the Syntrax Protein drinks: 90 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 0 carbs and 23g of 100% Whey Protein. If I can get good Protein with these totals what do you think the extra calories you are taking in are good for?
