Is it BMI related?

Usually 100 or so lbs to lose or BMI of 40 ish or less.  Not real strict about it, I hang out on this board and started at BMI of 42.  They haven't evicted me yet LOL

I think if you have ever had people say "You aren't big enough for WLS" you may be a lightweight.  My starting BMI was 42.5 but I gained about 15 lbs from the time I requested a referral to the bariatric surgeon to my actual surgery day back in 2002.  My BMI never even broke 40 until I decided to get WLS and was afraid I wouldn't be big enough to qualify so I ate unrestrained, both to qualify and also because I felt, why not?  I was having surgery anyway I might as well get in all the food I can while I can.  I wen't on what I call my farewell to food international tour, hitting every ethnicity restaurant I could think of.  Ironically that wasn't my farewell as before long I was back to eating the same way, which is why I ultimately regained 100 lbs.

It's hard to believe that it took me almost 45 years before I became morbidly obese.  That is because I spent most of my life since my teens trying to control my weight.  I lost and gained over 100 lbs so many times I lost count.  By the time I was able to have WLS I think I was out of the ability to control my eating in any way, shape or form and it was just a downward (or upward) spiral from there on out.  Even though I regained most of my lost weight and after 8 years all I had to show for having WLS was a net loss of 20 lbs I am convinced that without having WLS when I did I probably would have been at least 300 at that point so even though my loss was small at that point it probably did help arrest the course of my obesity in that time.
