Average chicken nugget is only HALF meat... the rest is fat, bone & nerve endings!!
This rates up there with fish sticks. I hate to admit it, but I have frozen fish - all kinds of good, healthy fish - in my freezer and I never want to eat it. I prefer fish sticks - the stick kind, and the fish triangles. It all comes battered and ready to bake.
One time I peeled off all the batter to see the fish, and it looked like (and acted like) a piece of rubber. I wonder what that stuff is made out of. It was fish fibers kept together with glue... seafood plywood.
The more I think about that, the more I shake my head.
I don't want to hear the bad stuff about fish sticks - they can't take those too!! ;-)

You are right. There are some things we should just chalk up to the mysteries of the universe rather than learn what's inside. Because I do love these silly, non-nutritional fish sticks (are there any Omega-3 oils in these things? ), along with store made meatballs, sausages and hot dogs. Who knows what fillers they are putting in there.
And hot dogs are all the parts of a cow that are inedible kept together with the glue of the hooves... But they make a quick additional 6 grms of protein each (as much as an egg), are easy to slip into any dish, and are cheap. I just try not to think about all the cow udders and lips and other parts normally tossed that I'm scarfing down with my mustard. It truly is a case of 'Ignorance is bliss.'
