Hubby and I are still working. Our contracts are like Jody's, funded with FY13 dollars. Our Nat'l Guard State HQs are working at about 1/3 the staff. I hope the hurricane in the gulf doesn't hit folks too hard and I hope the snow doesn't cause too many problems in the mid west. No technicians to help get the Guard out very fast. They'll come out if needed but not as efficiently as they should.
Edited: I just read that the governor of Louisiana recalled all 500 and some technicians. Good!

How can the governor do that? Who is going to pay them?
I know where I work they worked without pay for 3 months until the state budget was passed. I was suppose to start in August but it didn't happen until November.
Sounds Good Gina!

I don't know how they are being paid or if they are being paid. I imagine there's some sort of pre-emergency clause in the law allowing the governor to prepare in case he has to mobilize the Guard.

Hi Gail, I'll start this even though you asked Roz. Lemon tea is kind of like protein coffee, we all have various ways of doing it. We start with Syntrax lemon tea protein. I make mine with 1/2 scoop protein (could use a scoop but I do 2 a day so I am getting plenty of protein), 1 crystal light tube, 20+ oz of water and ice. I like mango peach and peach tea generic drink sticks. lemon tea tends to foam so I mix it in a small amount of water with a spoon, then add the rest of the water very slowly so it doesn't foam. Otherwise, let it sit and the foam goes away.

Syntrax Lemon Tea. 8 oz. of water and 1 scoop of protein. Fill the cup with crushed ice. Shake in my Shaker cup with the silver ball.
If I want flavoring I add MIO or crystal lite. If usually drink mine plain but it is mild enough that it doesn't over power flavorings. It's the best thing I have found for variety because I can have any flavor I want.

Hi Roz,
It was a beautiful day here. Audit went great. He actually finished in one day. They do most of the things before they come on location now.
No lay offs for us since we are state and locally funded. I guess if it continued for a long time, it might eventually affect some of the state funds.
