Interesting experience

So about a month after I got back to NY, I started online dating again. Mostly for something to do outside of the house. One of the guys I met had had a RNY one year earlier. It was fascinating to exchange stories. His was a major loss from 437 to 225. Being that he is only a year out he is still very restricted. He still has lots of foods he can't tolerate. When I described my rather smooth sailing experience he was amazed. But I reminded him that his tiny pouch is responsible for his big loss and will be a tool he'll use forever. We dated a few times. It even went so far as to get intimate. He shared with me that he hadn't been intimate in 12 years and that he was nervous for this first time with me. I was so touched that he trusted me enough to see him with his significant excess skin. He said he felt like an angel brought me to him so that he could feel like a man again with someone who understood his appearance.  It didn't work out between us. He wants children and I don't. But I'm grateful to have met such a courageous guy. And top of that, he was a wonderful man. Don't think I didn't try to talk him out of children more than once :)

That's a lot of weight to lose.  Did he have a lot of loose skin?  I heard men don't seem to have as much.  It took me awhile to even let my DH see me and we have been married 34  years when I had it done.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

He had a tremendous amount of extra skin from both his back side and front. He talked about getting the surgery, but wasn't sure he'd be covered. I think he'd lose another 25lbs without the skin.

Dang.  How did you meet a fellow WLS person? You are so lucky!

I started online dating about 3 months ago.  I put in my profile that I was a DS WLS person, and would love to meet any and all WLS men.  Nothing.  I get men that don't have anything to do with WLS (or even know what that means).  No WLS guys though.

I would really like to meet another WLS guy.  For a gal with a DS, another DS patient would make the perfect mate.  Cause I would like someone to fart with, someone who knows what it's like in the early mornings (like, don't get between me and the bathroom!), someone to share a dinner order with, etc.  Someone who understands the beauty of "fat bombs"....

It was a fluke. We went to dinner and both made the comment that we don't eat much. Then we laughed and both said we'd had the RNY. We didn't know going in.

I'm glad you enjoyed the date for what it was.
