Update on weight loss and LIFE
Well it seems that out of every month I am experiencing around a two week stall. During my stall I gain one to two pounds. I am currently stalled and back up to 190 when I WAS 188. UGH. But generally I will loose what I gain then loose an additional 2-3 pounds. So I'm loosing about 6 or 7 lbs a month. Not what I would like but it's better than nothing right now. I am getting scared that I won't get to goal because my loss is slowing down and I'm four months out now. (17 Weeks) I know after six months it slows tremednously so I'm scared. I don't want this to be as good as it gets :( I am still low on my protein, was doing good for awhile but at the same time that I ran out of money I also ran out of protein. I plan to get some this week though.
Personally, I am going back to school to work on a bachelors in psychology. I plan to go ALL the way and get my PhD. I am bipolar and feel that I will relate to patients better than someone who doesn't suffer mental illness. Also, I'm dealing with my son who is also Bipolar and is currently in the hospital for being suicidal. I have been very very stressed worrying about my baby. I love him so much and have been so scared for him. When he comes home I have to have all of my meds and anything sharp locked up. It's a very scary situation. I start school tomorrow and hopefully Wednesday my son will be coming home. I did not turn to food during these terrible times which I suppose is a NSV. When I went to the hospital to see him last night he told me he could see I've lost a lot of weight. THere I am worrying about him and he's complementing me on my weight loss. What a sweet kid.
As I said I am going back to school. When I get my student loans I have to buy a computer and the rest is going to a gym membership. I'm joining the YMCA and just paying for a year membership up front. I quit my cleaning job due to my son needing care when he gets home but he is going to be going to the YMCA with me. Exercise is good for ppl with mental illness. Well it's good with everyone. I haven't been exercising except for my cleaning job but now that that is gone I have to get into the gym and get it going. Any way that is the update on my weight and my sanity. Hope everyone is doing well. HUGS
Stair stepping down is normal for some folks. Who knows why but that is what their bodies prefer to do. Once you realize it, you can expect it and not get so down about it.
Keep on with your program and get your exercise (you are right, it is good for our mind and our body) and you will keep losing. The protein will help.
Good luck with school. My DD got her PhD and it is a long road but she loved being a student so it worked for her.

I had an RNY so I'm not sure how the VSG works but at 6 months I actually started losing more each month because I could move around a lot better. I also increased my Protein drinks at that time which also helped.
It sounds like you have set up a great plan for your life.

I was kind of the same as you.
At 190 I started working with a personal trainer 4x/week. I lost 10 lb/month for a coupla months, but 4-5/month since then. You can see in my signature. So it's harder now. Are you tracking your food? It's all about being serious now, food and exercise. But in a few months you'll be down to where you want to be so keep plugging along. It's all about how much you put into it.

Sounds like everything is going good with your son coming home and you going to school and planning to workout and you have positive attitude. I had RNY and I average 4.5 lbs per month I try not to think about it and just keep doing what I need to do. I can understand about the money and protein, hang in there you will get where you want to be!!
