Getting Sleeved Tomorrow

Today is clear liquids so I've been drinking Crystal Lite and chicken broth. Suprisingly I'm not real hungry. Cannot wait to get out of work so I can clean my bedroom.

Question - were most of you able to sleep in your bed when you got home or was a recliner better? After my hysterectomy I had to sleep in my recliner for two weeks because I couldn't lay down flat without immense pain.

Best of luck to you tomorrow!   I had to do the recliner for a couple days but only because of the horrible reflux I was having (propped up was the only way to prevent the burning and coughing).   It was a week before I felt comfortable sleeping on my side or tummy but I was able to sleep on my back in my own bed pretty quickly.

Good luck tomorrow!!!  We are saving a place for you on the Loser's Bench.

I slept in the bed, but I had my husband that could help me up and down.  I could probably have rolled out of the bed on my own, but was afraid to strain much to try and sit up before getting up.

Let us know how you are doing when you can.

Hurray!!! I know you have waited and been anxious but your time is finally here.  Yep, we will be sliding down on the loser's bench for you tomorrow.

I slept in the recliner for a few nights.  Then in the bed with lots of pillows to support my tummy, knees, etc.  Pillows helped a good bit.  My pain was no where what it had been with an open hysterectomy but I did take my pain meds for a day or two.  Take them if you need them.  Sip, rest and walk and you will be feeling better in no time.

I also used a recliner and slept in it for about two weeks-just felt more comfortable. We have room for you on the bench!

I'm super excited for you!!!!!   I can't wait to join this journey with you!!!

I slept in my own bed but I needed a stool to get in and out.  I think DH helped me sit up...don't remember much about those first few days. I had 3 C-sections and 1 hysterectomy (all up and down) and I always wear a light weight panty girdle after surgery because I think it helps with the pain by keeping your stomach from giggling so much.  If you are a side sleeper one of those long pillows might help to support your belly also.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

My daughter has one of those long pillows and I think I'm going to steal it from her!

Good luck and please post of you need anything!

I could not sleep in my bed for about a week...I did not have a recliner so slept on my couch.  Didnt sleep great but did okay. I did buy a body pillow and they helped me once I was in bed.  I am a stomach sleeper and once my drain was out after 6 days, I could sleep in my bed.

Sending healing thoughts your way!
