I hate doctors
Recently I had bloodwork done and my TSH is low (pituitary not telling thyroid to make hormone) which usually means hyperthyroidism, but my T4 is 400% below normal. Obviously my thyroid isn't putting any out- hypothyroidism.
Well, the receptionist who called wants to know why I'm upset because temporary doc said I have hyperthyroidism. Are they kidding???? I'm so tired of managing my own care. What is wrong with them,?? So old school to only read TSH results. Grrr
I hear you! Can you get a referral to a specialist? I don't know a thing about thyroid but perhaps one that specializes?

Sorry you are having issues. I know nothing but understand why you are upset. When my PTH and calcium were out of whack, they didn't understand or know why and didn't seem to care. Hopefully you will get help or a referral tomorrow.

I don't know anything about thyroid, but wanted to wish you good luck with the doctor. Unfortunately so many doctors now have quotas that they have to meet and they get you in and out pretty quickly without ever taking the time to stop and talk to you about things that might make a difference in your care. Hope you get a good doctor.
Keep us updated.
