Menus and Miles Monday August 19th

rough day today. drove 2 1/2 hours to my appt in Cleveland at bariatric center, then met daughter who lives in Cleveland for lunch, then drove 2 hours, grocery shopped then drove an hour home. Had latte, and then ate a protein bar on the way home.Either one was ok, but I shouldn't have eaten both in one day. Lunch was a yummy salad, but impossible to figure out to put in my fitness pal. Dr.happy with my progress, but thinks I should eat more!! that was not what I needed to hear, I already want to eat more. Just felt like my eating was not under strict control today.
Oh well, nothing terrible, but I could have done better
B hard boiled egg, ham and a little cojack cheese nuked
S small bowl veggie soup
S Venti skim milk latte with sugar free caramel
L chicken greek salad, at all the chicken and some of the tabbouleh and some veggies
S kashi go lean protein bar and a banana first protein bar I have had and it wasn't worth it
D chicken beets 1/4 cup potato

Looking at your menu I think you are eating enough. It's not so much about quantity it's about quality. I don't even tell my Dr. what I eat any more. I have to do what is best for me. The more I eat the more I want.

I really think she has! I've liked him from the first day I met him. In the year they have dated never once has she called me upset over something he has done or said. Her 8 yr. old absolutely adores him.
I just can't stop at a 1/2 of PB sandwich. As soon as the PB comes out the spoon goes in. Definitely one of my weaknesses.

I used to be like that too, but PB upsets me now, so I don't get to eat it by the spoon anymore.
The last time I got the foamies it was from PB and drinking milk right after... and that was probably about 4-5 months ago.

Congratulations on the wedding, sounds wonderful.
I got passed on to new foods this week!
BF - protein hot chocolate - 15g
Snack - Protein lemonade - 15g
Oatmeal w/half an egg - 6g (?)
Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yoghurt Vanilla - 12g
Homemade turkey meatloaf w/spinach & Ricotta - 21g
Did lap swimming 35 minutes.

If you could just increase your protein in each one of the things listed your total would be much higher. Are using Whey Protein? If you are, are you using 1/2 scoops? If you aren't using Whey you should think about trying some. I still think your protein total is way to low. I don't even count protein in foods because we don't absorb most of it.

I try to average 70g+ of protein. My NUT told me to shoot for 70 to 90g. I do use whey - mostly it's in premixed envelope products. I was going to ask you how you use the Syntrax, do you mix it with 8 ounces? I dilute it a lot when I use it because I haven't found a taste I like yet.

First off you can judge anything this early out as far as taste goes. It takes a few months to get your taste buds back to normal. It actually took me quite a few months before I could even tolerate flavored protein. I used unflavored in practically everything I ate that it could be mixed in. I only count my Whey Protein. We don't absorb most of the protein in foods for the first year or more. When I look at your menu I am only seeing about 30 grams. When I tried getting my Protein with food I started over eating.
I use a small shaker cup from GNC. I add just enough to cover the silver ball and that probably is about 8 oz. of water, add 1 scoop of the Syntrax Lemon Tea, and fill the cup with crushed ice. I like mine really cold. What I like about the Lemon Tea is that it is mild enough I can use it plain or I can add flavorings. I like the MIO flavorings because I can use a drop at a time and they don't spill in your purse or pocket.
