Im curious- Just looking for perspective from those that are in maintenance on how you define your acceptable weight range.

Do you set a max that you wont go above without cracking down on yourself? Example 140

Or do you say I need to stay within _____ (this range) Example 135-145

If you use a range, how wide is it?  Example above is 10 lbs

Thanks for your input.  I am playing with the concept of maintenance, I'm getting close to it.

10 lbs on a lightweight is quite a bit but you do what is comfortable to you.

But first go as LOW as your body will let you. Don't start main til you are at least 2 years out. Assume you will continue to lose until you hit at LEAST that time frame.

I went as low as I could, 111 was my lowest and it truly was too low.  I looked pretty bad.  I went up to about 115 and stayed there for a while, then seemed to jump to 124.  I've been here for a very long time.  Would like to be 120ish.  I don't think I ever said to myself when I was going to crack down, I feel like I never let up.  Well, that isn't true because I do let myself eat pretty normally when I am traveling, eating out, etc.  Not that I throw down junk but may eat some carbs, deserts, etc.

It is kind of interesting that both my PCP and Nut thought I would end up at mid 120s which is also normal BMI for me.  It is also odd, I think that when I had the body scan, I was under fat even when my BMI was right at the normal/overweight limit.  So I guess as long as it is heavy bones and muscles, I'm ok with it.

My personal goal that I set for myself was to stay in a normal weight range.  So anything below 132 is acceptable, but when I get close to 130 I really try to cut out things and get back to 128-129.  The one time I hit over 130 I freaked out and really cut bac****il it my weight got back below 130.  I would like to get back to 126.5 but it is alot harder now!!

Thanks ladies,

lots of food for thought (pun intended, LOL)   After reading these answers and the ones on the main forum I will be setting myself up a max weight that I will go back to loss mode if I see it on the scale.  Plus as mentioned, if my clothes get tight, loss mode needs to start.

I dont yet know what that max will be as I am getting a TT and breast implants done in October and that may alter what I weigh plus I may still lose more.   I know in my head that I am less than a year out and may still lose for another year slowly, but I am smaller than I have ever been and can't imagine getting even smaller in the future.   The mental part is killing me!  I actually have a few size 4s now, but mostly 6s.
