Will they still operate if you have a cold?

I was talking to my sister earlier today and told her my daughter has a cold. She said, oh that sucks because if you get it they will cancel your surgery.  

 

Is this true?

Probably different groups are different.  Start on Zicam.  Start her on Zicam.  It's amazing stuff and really keeps a cold from hanging on or even getting started good.

I was at the end of a cold when I had my VSG. The surgeon said as long as I didn't have a fever or infection I was good to go! Don't worry about it.

Head cold - no, shouldn't hold it up.  Chest cold - yes, absolutely will hold it up.  Get on Zicam or whatever else your pharmacist recommends to nip it in the bud! 

YESSS !!! 

I had a very sore throat and a head cold, but no fever.  I was actually on an antibiotic right before surgery.  He said as long as I did not have a fever it was ok.

I was on the tale end of a cold as well... cough but no fever... hurt like hell to cough tho...
