FRIDAY GRATEFUL POST
Good Friday everyone,
I know that this is the day that everyone or almost everyone looks forward to at the beginning of each week. I am grateful too that the weekend is almost upon us. I am also a little saddened today. My 27 yr. old son has to say goodbye to a friend who died last week from a drug overdose. A 23 yr. old young woman with 2 small children. So very sad. I am grateful that we know where she is today ( she was a Teen Challenge graduate ). Life is so very short. We need to be grateful for every minute the good Lord blesses us with everyday. I am going to the funeral with him this AM. By God's grace that could be MY son laying there. She died of a heron overdose and my son was a heron addict too but thanks for a program called Teen Challenge my son has been clean and sober for over 2 yrs. now. I am grateful for his soberity today. Grateful for all the Teen Challenge students overcoming their addiction to drugs and alcohol. I am grateful for my life and my family. Grateful for my WLS and all the choices of different surgeries today. Please say a prayer for Amber's friends and family as they all say goodbye to her today. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today. Have a blessed weekend.

One of my long time staff members was at the funeral home last night for a best friend of her son's who also died of an overdose. I am so far removed from that world these days, it always is unbelievable to me but it is still happening. Grateful that I don't live with that daily horror.

Price S......My 27 yr.old son is a recovered heron addict. Before he went into Teen Challenge I sometimes would expect a call that he had overdosed. Thank GOD that call never came to me. My son was adopted by my husband and I as a new born from 2 drug addict parents. I never thought he would ever do drugs....he started smoking pot at 11 and progressed to harder and harder things. Thank GOD for Teen Challenge. It doesn't cure everyone of the addictions in their lives but thank God my son hasn't started using. My heart breaks for young people turning to drugs and getting in so deep it ends their life. Your staff member's son and his friends parents will be in my prayers. My heart goes out to them.
