Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period

Linda E. said she could do M&M for me on Sunday...thank you!

I'm still wondering over a friend thinking she can eat donuts at 2 months out.   She also said she could have sugar as long as she stayed under 15g per serving.  I still can't eat 15g at a time (8g is my limit) without suffering the consequences. Do you think if you have sugar and carbs early out your body gets accustomed to them?   How many of you  follow your Surgeon's or NUTS WL plan?  Did they give you a daily plan for the honeymoon period and then a different one for Maintenance?  I got a handbook that told me what  and how much to eat at each meal. I followed it for awhile until I started reading posts and asking questions on the LW board. That's where I really learned to be successful.

Surgeon's plan had toast and jacket potatoes - I'm yet to try toast and have only had 2 jacket potatoes in the last year (one today and one yesterday - doh!).

Today was less than stellar day carb-wise.  I went to the supermarket after work and bought a chicken curry as relying on what's left on the lunch trolley is no good even if you do jump in there first so I'm set for tomorrow!! ;-)

B1 Protein shake 30
B2 Greek yogurt 20
S Cheese 10
L Cheese jacket potato 10
L Protein shake 30
D Chicken breast & cheesey brocoli 35

I followed my plan to a T for the first year, then did what was working for me.  But I was religious about it in the beginning.  About the sugar, I think either you are going to react or not and it probably doesn't matter when you start.

Finally, today and tomorrow, the sun is shining.  I did get a drive in with Halley this morning but tomorrow have meetings all day.  I have muscle pump   this evening.

decaf protein coffee  33g
kale, eggbeaters, cheese
lemon tea protein  13g
hamburger on a carbquick roll, green bean/tomato salad, 2 cookies
peanut butter
lemon tea protein
fish, chard
protein shake  33g

Hi Roz,

I followed my NUT's plan pretty close for the first three months.  Then I only added in the Protein Shakes that everyone was recommending for me to do.  It helped me stay successful.  I don't think I tried anything sweet like that for quite a while.  I don't know what amount I can tolerate - sometimes I can eat something and it doesn't bother me and the next time it might put me out cold and make my pouch hurt really bad.  My NUT's plan included mashed potatoes in the beginning for the mushy stage.  I did eat them, but it was not even 1/4 of a cup.  I think my plan had 4 different stages.  I still have all my paperwork in a big binder.
