Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period
I saw a girl yesterday at Walmart that had called me about my WLS. I hadn't given her much advice except to go to a Qualified WL Surgeon. Well she had her surgery 2 months ago and has lost 45 pounds. I am guessing some of that was from before surgery. She looks great and if she hadn't have spoken I probably wouldn't have recognized her. Any way back to the conversation. She doesn't base her meals on protein and her totals are probably low so she is thrilled she has kept all of her hair (a little bummed when I told her mine didn't start falling out until 4 months), She will never drink Protein drinks, she has already gotten sick on donuts because she didn't realize they are fried (what about the sugar??) etc..etc. I didn't even ask her about her supplements by that point I was wasting my breath and a little in shock.

How is it that some folks think our WLS is a free ride?!?!?! You did all you could. Maybe the door is open and when she falls, she'll call on you for help. Sad.

DS on Aug 9, 2007 with Dr. Hazem Elariny
I was telling my DH about her this morning and he said her brother is the same way and you can't tell him anything. Another friend had it done too and my DD saw her and said she looked fantastic. I haven't seen her yet. Her Mom and brothers gave her such a rough time that she put it off for the longest time. Hopefully she got good advice and is listening.
Good Menu!

Oh dear - I'm still hoping for my free DS ride but it's not exactly a cake walk - pun intended. I'd definitely stand no chance with RNY.
A little low on protein today. I was out shopping with DH and just not in the mood for a protein bar as the novelty's worn off!! I got some tops, walking shoes and a back pack with a 64oz water compartment that has a long drinking pipe that reaches your mouth!! I plan to stay hydrated while in Italy.

I love my RNY but if I had it to do over again I would have at least looked into the DS. it would be so nice to travel. You are a very lucky lady.
Sounds Good!

It really pi#*s me off that some Drs do such a lousy job of preparing folks, dooming them to fail.
I got a drive in with Halley before the rains started here. Sun is out now but the humidity is horrible.

She says she went to the #1 WL Surgery Dr. in Pittsburgh but I have never heard of him. I had a good Surgeon and nutritionist but they never prepared me like my LW's have.
It is extremely hot here today too. The air in my car even felt hot.
