Menus and Miles Wednesday August 7th

She says she isn't going back.  She just wants to stay home and watch TV. We are going through a group called "Life".  My Mom is completely covered for everything they do from healthcare,medications,  house keeping, and grocery shopping to bathing. She can go to their center as often as she would like and they would pick her up and take her home.  To bad she doesn't want to take advantage of any of it.

You are right...it is a little carby...LOL.

Tell me more about this Life group. Sounds interesting. My folks could use something like that.  

Ours is called Life of Butler County and it's through the Lutheran Church.  According to them the state has figured out that it is cheaper to keep the elderly in their home with help than to put them into a nursing home. When she is ready to go to a nursing home you have to go to one on their list.   We had to prove income and that she was able to stay home alone with occasional help.   I think she was allowed to have $6000.00 in the bank.

We had to give up her PCP because they have a Dr. there.  They take care of all of her medications, any equipment that is covered through insurance/medicare etc. They do in house care and they have a center she can go to. She is assigned to a nurse, nursing assistant,  physical therapist, etc.

You probably have an Aging Program through the state where your parents live.
