Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!     

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Over the hump day!!   Well, my Mom went for her first day of "Day Care".  I felt like I did many many years ago when I put my DD's on the school bus the first day of school. I  wondered how she would handle being out of her environment, would she make some friends, would she listen to the care givers and not talk back, if she had to go to the BR would she tell anyone...etc. We are starting slow with 1 day a week.  She has been fighting us on this but this morning went really smooth.

I'm glad it went well with your mom.

My parents finally moved out this week to their own place after spending a couple of months with me and DH.  They're close to being self sufficient except they keep coming round to use the internet... they'll have their own access soon though!! :-D

My Mom has an apartment above my brother's garage (it was her house) but she doesn't get out much.  We are doing this just to get her out of the house some and with people her own age.  My Dad died when he was 46 and she has never really had many friends but we found out her one friend goes to this place and she loves it.

Roz I'm sure you've probably been asked this before, but do you ever get tired of eating the same thing for breakfast every morning?  I look at these posts and you always have the Matrix mint cookie - is it really that good?  I sent for some samples but didn't get that flavor yet.

Breakfast to me means fried and carb foods so I rarely eat breakfast. I did have oatmeal this morning but I haven't had any since late winter and probably won't have it again until winter.

I LOVE my Mint Cookie and I look forward to it every morning!!!!  I use water and crushed ice and it is very refreshing.  I rarely drink it during the day  unless I run out of Lemon Tea. Except maybe in the winter I put it in my hot chocolate.  I didn't know they sold samples of the Matrix Mint Cookie.  If you send me a message with your address I can send you some in a ziploc baggy.

Hi Roz,

Glad it went good this morning.  I hope she had a good time.  My parents are going to a senior center once a week and they are really enjoying it.  I think my mom likes it a lot more than my dad.

I know my DIL is going to have a rough time Friday morning when DGD#1 starts pre-K.  She is so shy and as far as we know, none of her friends are going to be in her class.  It just takes her a little while to warm up to people.  I hope she gets a very caring teacher.

I think that's great that you Mom and Dad go to a senior center together.  I'm sure they have made some friends and it keeps them active. I have so many regrets for not encouraging my Mom to make friends or get involved in something when my Dad passed away.  She has been a widow since she was 43. She made her grandchildren her world. The grandkids are all grown and Mom isn't young enough to take care of the great-grandchildren but she thinks she can still do it.

Pre-K will probably be really good for her.  It's the best place for little ones to get prepared for kindergarten . It's best that they go through this adjustment period before they go to K. (this is what I tell my clients all day....LOL)  How could a pre-k teacher not be caring with all of those little cuties.

I hope your Mom enjoyed herself- please let us know how it went.

I'm looking into home-care to help my Mom with my Dad.  It's just getting to be too much for her.  They can't afford it so...

When you see my menu for yesterday - it will scream CARB to you... I haven't eaten this carby in I-don't-know-how-long.  I'm done with now.

B - protein coffee

L - 2 pieces of pizza, 3 garlic knots and the rest of my sushi (was riceless so that' isn't so bad)

D - all grain tortilla chips.. I don't normally allow myself down that grocery aisle but did last night.

Vits:  yes

Water:  not bad.

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.
