Doc said I could resume swimming when scab formed over drain hole.  That and a bit more has formed (scar tissue) so today I'm restarting my swimming routine!  So excited.  I know at less than 800 calories I won't be doing maybe as much as I did before, but I'm still looking forward to it.  Plus maybe it will speed up my weight loss!

Good for you.  Swimming is suppose to be good exercise with less strain on your body.

It would be good for you to post on Menus and Miles.  Are most of your calories from Protein?

Ahhh, swimming - that's one of those activities that I used to love as a kid and teen but as I got fatter and fatter I have avoided it like the plaque.  I think I'm going to have to make that one of my goals is to get back into the pool.  Well, first I have to buy the suit - lol!

Take care and best of luck on your journey!

I avoided it for a long time but it's a natural for me.  The good thing about being 50 is I've joined the rank of "older ladies" who swim and don't worry about looking sexy in a suit.  It's a nice release, and feels so good.

Have fun.  I love to swim too, but just never do it.  I joined a gym that has a pool, but never made it to the pool(or the gym much either!!)

I did a lot of water rehab with my new knee and finally started swimming laps again.  I just like the motivation of classes better.  My gym has a bunch of water aerobics classes from water cardio to water zumba and slower arthritus classes.  I like the fast paced, get your heart rate up ones these days.

Oooh water zumba sounds fun!  I do take a deep water aerobics class sometimes instead of laps - if it's not too full and the teacher is good.  I swim at the university so there's not a lot of choices.  If the lap lanes are fairly empty I go there, if not, I jump in the class.  I'm hoping as I lose weight to take more land based classes.
