Back with some weight gain...
Freaking out as I have gained 12 lbs. I know you guys understand as lightweights that it's nothing to sneeze at! Need help getting back on track. I went of Abilify as I thought that may be causing it. Trying to eat more protein -- how much extra should I aim for for weight loss? What should I keep my carbs under? I was spoiled for 6 years eating whatever but now have to get off that train!! Any other tricks I've forgotten? Thanks so Much you all!
Hi there! My routine for losing is 120 grams of protein from shakes or protein coffee made with heavy cream and water or 1/2 & 1/2 and water. Carbs under 50 grams and walking in short spurts throughout the day. When I want to lose I have to give up some things I usually do to maintain such as Greek yogurt and blueberries and JayRobb protein bars. If I can do it for 2 to 3 weeks I can lose 5+ pounds. Stick around. We'll help. : )

Please keep posting and reading....you can work on this re-gain and come up with a plan. I try to think of every meal as protein focused and have tried to replace a protein meal/snack with an extra shake. Helps reduce calories and add in more protein. Like Gina, I almost always get in 100+ protein grams a day. Good luck!

Be careful with Abilify. Although it didn't cause weight gain for me, it 100% kept me from losing. The only newer drug like Abilify that didn't have that effect was Geodon, I had gained back 35 pounds since my surgery. It was tough to address it at its worst. Anyway I take a lot of medication for my bipolar disorder, so I'm extra careful about which ones affect weight, Most recently I was on Symbiax which was really helping psychologically, but was killing my weight loss, When I switched to Geodon the weight started falling off from all the hard work I was doing.
The good news is that I'm on a mix of meds that works for me and I've lost 30 of the 35 pounds I regained.
Just do it. We are here to help.
