Menus and Miles Thursday July 25th
Hi Roz,
Must be a late eating day today. We had to travel to another library and didn't get back to have my lunch until around 1:30 today. Prior to WLS I would have had to find something to eat during this time. Now I can get caught up in something and not realize what time it is because my stomach doesn't rule when it is time to eat now!!

My Fitness Pal says I need to eat 100+ more calories for the day, but I'm done for the day.

If I don't have food ready available I can go for a long time and not get hungry. Before WLS just driving past a McDonalds sign made me hungry.....
I tried to make baked zucchini chips last night. The first bite right out of the oven was pretty good but once they cooled down ...yuk. The recipe said to make them 1/4 inch thick but they tasted kind of moist in the middle. The really thin ones were dryer like chips.
Is your weight still holding steady using the Carbquik? I still fear it.

I'm still trying to drop a few more pounds before my 4 year appointment in August and to keep it off after that. I have really cut back on my night time eating and after supper I only get to have my protein shake drink-it is like a milk shake.
I stopped the carbquick for a few days. I have started back. I have not baked all the sweet things though. I really like some type of bread so I am making these blueberry cream cheese things that are like biscuits to make sandwiches with - pretty good. I made some crackers and they are in the freezer they were not quite crisp enough.
I was going to try the zucchini chips and shared that recipe to my facebook page, but it disappeared. I probably won't do them now. I love chips and wish I could find something I like. I tried the kale chips like Price makes, but I could never get them where I liked them either. I tried butternut squash chips and turnip root chips. Every now and then you just want something that crunches!!
The Chip recipe disappeared from everyone's page that I know of. I'm wondering if the original "sharer" thought they weren't having on her home page. I have it if you want to try them. The very thin ones were pretty good right out of the oven but once they got cold...yuk. I'm going to try microwaving some and see how they turn out.
I understand wanting to crunch. My popcorn doesn't crunch but it satisfies me at night without a lot of calories. If you ever find something really good let me know.
I think I have enough Carbquik to make an order of muffins and then I need to buy some more. I'm going to buy my DD's fiance a bag. He loves to cook but he does it low carb. I wonder if he will continue after they are married and there is more to cook for. If he does I guess they will all be eating healthier (they are all thin). He is going to do the cooking and she is going to wash the clothes...LOL.
I ordered 52 dozen cookies for her wedding. I hope I can stay out of them!!!!!!!

Hi Roz, I'm posting Friday's bites as I probably won't get back from the hospital 'til and then I'll probably straight to be if last time is anything to go by (it can take me 2 or 3 hours to get back from the hospital).
Hospital this afternoon for one year check up and blood draw so no vites today. I'm guessing the afternoon and evening stuff as I probably won't get back home 'til late and didn't want to miss posting. I have my Kindle with me as I usually wait hours to see the consultant - kinda makes the appointment time feel a little pointless!! ;-)
