Repost: Do Lightweights lose slower? OR It's not POUNDS, it's PERCENTAGES!
Typical definition is a BMI or 35-45 with 100-150 lbs to lose. Okay, so your BMI is higher but the number of lbs within that.
HOWEVER, we don't get picky around here...all are welcome.

Jen, I use this calculator: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.htm
And then I just guess until I get it.
Example, at 5'1", I knew your BMI had to be lower than mine...so I started at 120 (too low), changed to 130 (ALMOST), went to 132, so close, but 133 pushes you over. So 132 is it.

This has got to be one of the most interesting posts I've read in the 2 years I've been on OH! I've been on the VSG board and didn't realize there was a lightweights board until someone pointed me to it a few months ago. I pop in and read every once in a while and this post just blew me away. I'm not sure of how to calculate the percentage of how much I lost or where I actually 'should' be. My doctor set a goal of 150 lbs at 1 year (surgery was 6-12-12) and I'm now 13 months post op and I'm at 143 lbs, down 93 lbs. I'm 5' 5.5" and started at 236 lbs. My medical conditions were what pushed me more into the surgery than my weight but it was also a big factor. I had really high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was diagnosed borderline diabetic. My doctor said if I didn't do something immediately I'd be a diabetic by my next appt. That was the shot in the arm that I needed as I had a new grandson (my first) and wanted to be around for him for a long long time. Here I am now happier than I've been in 20 years and couldn't be more excited with the results. I too have batwings, sagging belly and a sharpei butt but I'm healthier at 55 than I was at 35!
I'm not sure if I calculated it right but it looks like for my height 5' 5.5" that 152 would've put me at 24.9 BMI. I'm at 143 right now which is a BMI of 23.4. I'm not sure of the percentage loss but I definitely feel like a winner!! Thank you SouthernLady!
You're welcome..
As to percentage lost:
93 lbs lost
236 was your starting weight?
86 lbs to get to a 25 BMI.
93/86 = 108% lost.
