So, I am home - just finished 3 days post-op (had surgery on Tuesday).  I'm up late because I've been sleeping so much and just didn't feel it tonight.  So far the only pain is where the drain is.  It's just sore muscle pain.  No problem getting liquids in, protein is a little harder because the stuff I bought is so sweet!  I'm managing well, though.  Weighed myself once and still swollen from surgery so I'll see what it is tomorrow.  I'd lost 10lbs on the pre-op diet.

I'm excited to get going on this journey and feeling good so far.  Can't wait to get to "normal" lifestyle.

Hurray for you.  Sip, rest, walk, repeat.

Don't worry about weight yet, they fill you up with fluids during and after surgery and we usually gain before losing.  It will come off, I promise.

Congratulations!  Sounds like you're doing great. It's  normal for your taste buds to change... I found things to taste very sweet after surgery... it does change back, but takes a long time.

Awesome!!!!!  Glad to hear you aren't having any discomfort.

Taste buds go wacky after surgery.  Everything tasted extremely sweet, sour, and spicy for me.  It actually last a while. You don't need to stress about the Protein drinks right now but don't give up on them.  The best flavor I found that didn't effect my taste buds as bad was mango. I used unflavored Protein for awhile and used mango flavoring in it.
