Hi I'm 3 weeks out and am having a  hard time with a pain that is slowly getting better but is keeping me down allot. I still manage to get my hour of walking in but not much else. I guess im panicking because were moving in 2 weeks and i can't do all i want to right now. My husband works and is not used to doing it all like i am. He seems a little overwhelmed. He is not very empathetic and it hurts me to feel like a burden.  I Iknow i will be able to do more soon but not soon enough. I started at 191 and have lost 19 lbs since the pre op. my goal weight is  120 Im only 4ft 9 in. Im grateful for all of you because no one else seems to understand.

Congrats on your Surgery!!!   I bet it is hard sitting back and looking at everything that needs to be done.  Moving is hard work plus all of the emotional stress.  I hope you start feeling better soon. Be patient with DH and don't let him just throw things in boxes so the job just gets done.  My DD did that because she was pregnant and she had a nightmare afterwards. Maybe make him a list or mark boxes and then he will feel a little organized.

If you can figure it out can you put your surgery type and date on your surgery page so it shows up at the top of your post. It helps us a lot when you have concerns.

I am 4' 10.5" and I am happily settled at 119 on most days.  Don't be surprised if you go lower than 120.  I thought 112-115 was perfect for me but my body didn't agree.

Thank you Roz for your great advice. I will do just that. I was hoping i would be feeling better by now. I planned to be back at work by Aug 1st. I was so wrong especially with all the moving. It is looking more like mid Aug now. We have two wonderful teens that have been a great help. Were a team and we will get it done. It will just be a little harder but doable. I appreciate your kindness and i will figure out how to post my stats soon:) I know it will all be worth it and i will be enjoying life more soon. This forum helps tremendously! Blessings

Hi RNY is a very complicated surgery.   Actually it took me months to feel really good after mine.   Hopefully you have some friends who can come and help you pack  things for your move.   DO NOT try to do it yourselfl or guilt yourself for not helping out that much.   Remember it takes time for your body to heal from major surgery.   You are going to feel amazing in a few short months but for now...take things one day at a time.    If you have lots of friends...have a packing party and ask them to come over and help you pack.   I bet lots of people will help you out if you just ask.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Hi Vivian,

Thank you so much for you kind words of wisdom. I have a tendency to try to do things on my own and its a hard habit to break. I will do just that I can order some yummy food for everyone afterward and make it a party! Great idea. I do have many friends at church and they have already offered to help. Our teens are packing their rooms themselves and i got some done before my surgery. My husband will be home this weekend and we can go through the attic together. No worries i will mainly help organize and direct. This forum is such a God Send and I am grateful for all the amazing people i have met so far. I am humbled and amazed at the blessings Our Heavenly Father has continued to shower me with while on this Journey. Thank you and continued blessings to you. I will do my best to help others as i learn my way through:)

Congratulations on your surgery.  19 pounds is awesome.

If you are walking an hour a day, you are doing great!!  Please don't pick up anything heavy or strain trying to do anything.

Good luck.  You have a lot going on right now, take care of you!

You are doing great, but just be careful not to overdo it.  Take a break in between.
