Questions to ask at consult
Do you already know what type of surgery you are having? If not, I would see what types he did and see what he suggested. Then I would study the different types of surgery to see which type would be the best for me.
I would want to know how many surgeries he had performed his rate of complications if he had ever had anyone pass away after surgery.
Also make sure their office has a follow up care program. Asked if they have support group meetings. It is a great help to have other people to talk with that have been through this. My support is here since my surgeon is 4 hours away, but support is so important to your success.
I would asked what requirements they have prior to surgery. Is there a 6 month supervised weight loss program - any counseling required?
What are the vitamins that they suggest - then check it out and make sure they are recommended a good vitamin schedule for the type of surgery that you are having.
Good luck,
Linda
