Food Stuck..not sure what to do.
Last night for dinner we had grilled chicken and it got stuck. After a few hours the tightness went away and it felt like it went down so I had my before bed popcorn and had to throw it up. This morning the same thing. I didn't feel stuck at all. I have been drinking my Protein drink without a problem. I just took a couple of bites of a PB sandwich and had to spit the 2nd bite out because I knew if I swallowed it I would have to force it back up.
I'm not sure what I should do. I hate running to the emergency room.

I tried the Papaya last night and I thought it was gone. I used to keep it at work but I don't have it here anymore. I'm going to go out on my lunch an buy some.

You may have some irritation going on and may want to stick with protein drinks for today. If it continues tomorrow you may need to go see the Dr. It is kinda strange you don't feel "stuck" thought...
I also was going to suggest the papaya enzymes.

I just went to Walmart and picked some up. The last time I got stuck I was up all night and there was no doubt I needed to go to the ER. This time it is weird. Since I took the bite I feel irritated and my throat hurts but I don't feel like something is stuck.

So sorry Roz. I recall the ER visit and that scared me with you so far out. Pray liquids does the trick and you are better tomorrow...hopefully by then, with the enzymes, it is digested and you can eat. If it isnt, would call dr as you know scope may be needed. Hopefully the chicken will have digested by now. You may also need zantax or a PPI if you are not on one; this happend to my dad...often with barbeque when he doesnt take his PPI. He has GERD (and is not a WLS person).
